And they certainly aren't right wing, I have voted Conservative (2017), Lib Dem (2015) and Labour (2010); I am a political sl*t. Showing maturity of a 5 year old? I'm not the one that labels people hypocrites if they don't agree with your views.

An end to austerity and creeping privatisation of the NHS. Those were voted against comprehensively in this election, yet we've still got them. Do you not accept that is a massive leap of faith on your part? You just don't know why people voted how they did. It's the equivalent of saying "the Tories had a 'mare but still have the largest number of seats, therefore the public has just given a massive vote of confidence to austerity". It makes no sense - it's just seeing what you want to see. How were they voted against comprehensively? Just because most parties had a different spending approach in their manifesto among the multitude of other policies? See my brexit example in the previous post - the way this is all going, I suspect a new referendum may well return a 'remain', yet 90% of voters voted for parties favouring brexit, and the parties rejecting brexit got pasted. You're just cherry picking manifesto pledges and assuming that is what people voted for because that's what you voted for (presumably).

I think that Labour will financially mismanage the NHS, but in doing so provide shorter waiting less, better coverage, health care etc. Largely because most of the people who vote Labour are also locked into using the NHS. Its a tradition, even of Communism, that provision of health care to its population, tends to exceed its economic rivals. That's not a defence of say Soviet Communism - but a reasonable point, that compared to similar economic scaled countries and regional countries, the scope and provision of health care was above norm. Of course its not because they're better ethically or morally, but its an effective 'bribe' to the people to tolerate them. Similarly you see the same kind of rise in literacy and educational achievement.

There are no enraged conservatives mounting a picket outside Jeremy Corbyn's house and hurling abuse. Nor have conservatives daubed paint on monuments, smashed up shop-fronts or brought traffic to a standstill while they attack the 'pigs' in an expression of unconstrained toddler rage. Conservatives have not questioned the very outcome of the poll based on a blithe and arrogant assumption that the Labour voters were thick, uneducated imbeciles who have been serially lied to by Corbyn ... [thanks to Rod Liddle for this] Edited by hedgehog50 (21 Jun 2017 10.31am) This time of the year, they'll be at Ascot or getting ready for Henley Regatta. Sipping on a Pimms, talking about 'how good the common folk have it'....
