That's probably correct. However, the new manager whoever that turns out to be, will have his own views as to what players to let go which to keep which to have as loans and which to buy. The trouble is that a new manager wont know any of this until preseason training is well underway, and that's where the delays will start kicking in. Allardyce had already gone through all this and would have known which positions to strengthen with which player I'm sure Big Sam would be only to too pleased to pass on his views of the playing squad to the new manager. For a small drink of course

Hard appointment in the fact that Big Sam got the squad together and made us look like Palace again. The new manager will have to carry that on and get the best from a decent squad that should finish mid table. With no clear front runner the critical thing is to do your homework and not listen to Mark Bright. To be honest I'm glad I don't have to make the choice.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

With the exception of the (understandaby) panicky appointment of Warnock, I think Parish has got the other appointments just about right. This includes Pardew, who got us out of trouble and had great results in his first year. He is obviously taking his time over the current one. He was dropped in it by BFS, and has time draw up a shortlist, and to undertake the interviews. Palace is a ( nearly!) established PL club now, with american backers, so there should be a lot of competition for the post.

Let's just hope it's the right sort of interest.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Sounds like the motto is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Wonder if this is one of those stitched pictures in Pard's house ? Keep the backroom staff, get a few key players in particularly the Beast, decent loanees who can contribute, let the deadwood go, proper training for starting fitness levels. Do everything forward from Pards last season and everything in reverse from there as well and we will be in the correct position for the start of next season. Manager won't matter much if we buy expensive quality players.

Edited by Booted Eagle (31 May 2017 1.45pm) Pardew only has mirrors hanging on the walls. To monitor himself and his performance.

Let's be honest, Pulis changed us, we were hard to beat. In the past 20 years i have never seen our defense so good. Sam got us back to that level. When we weren't mid table championship, we were exciting counter attacking football.

When we weren't mid table championship, we were exciting counter attacking football. That's our DNA. Under BFS it was great to see us voming back to what we once were. That style of play is what got us out of troulbe against Arsenal and Liverpool.Thats what we need to finder under a new manager
