It would be foolish for CPFC2010 to be totally disconnected from any transfers, after all, they write the cheques and it was they who dug us out of a seriously big hole! Also, Sam has a badly damaged reputation right now which is starting to mend. Leaving Palace in a hissy fit wouldn't do much for his rehabilitation. Big Sam is no one's fool and he knows to have a future he needs to stick around for a while yet.
Cynic or realist? It's a fine line! |

I'm not so sure he'll be short of options. theres always clubs willing to dangle that 2m survival bonus.

I thought it interesting that it seemed to be Parish who gave Speroni a new contract last week. There was no quote from Sam about it at all. Perhaps he is worried about who is in charge of who we get. Of course it was Parish that gave Speroni his new contract as after all the administration is his job. That doesn't mean that it's wasn't agreed with Sam first

Surely it should be up to the manager as to who he wants to give new contracts to, and the chairman then rubber stamps it. I may be wrong, but from what Parish said, this sounded like his decision (at the time, I thought the decision to bring back AJ was his as well).

I didn't believe the rumours that there was a rift with Pulis over transfer policy and that he could be leaving, until it happened. I will also remain a sceptic with respect to this latest rumour and hope that there isn't a problem. If we have yet another change of manager, it's us that are the problem.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Does anybody believe that Allardyce is fully "Wedded" to our club ? His family home is in a Cul-De-sac in Bolton and apart from W.Ham (And ourselves of course !) , his managerial jobs have mainly been in the north. Having secured our survival he will feel that it is "Mission accomplished" and maybe he might feel that he would rather accept another such challenge further up north ? We will of course find out by the end of next week.

Pulis came to Palace with an air of 'i don't really want to be here' about him so no surprise to me anyway when that went pear-shaped. Sam doesn't have that negative aura about him so am hopeful but you gotta remember he is 62, probably living in a hotel when in London, and if he get's the chance to manage a similar sized club as ours nearer to family and home he would probably take it.

Remind us what they spent in January. ? This. Sam phoned SP after the January window closed saying he'd never been at the top of a transfer spending window league and said he felt added pressure from it. (He didn't mean he was buckling. Probably just thought it should be mentioned)

You stand still in the prem you could be become the next Sunderland or A villa. Sam doesn't want to be in another relegation battle next season. Whilst AP spent about 80+ m (only 10m net spend)in the summer. Maybe he feels a similar budget needed.
