Wouldn't touch Downing with a barge pole, was delighted we didn't get him in January when it was rumored we were in for him. It's widely accepted here that he has been a very poisonous presence (along with Woodgate) in the Boro dressing room this season. This was heavily hinted at by George Friend in a recent interview and even Gibson has said the club needs a big overhaul hinting some of their `big name` players will see the door there was also a hint by him of some disruptive players.

I wouldn't go making too many fantasy transfer lists.. I think it just adds to many fans disappointment when their perceived bargain buys are picked up by our rivals. Trust the recruitment process, they've done a pretty awesome job the last couple windows and Sam has now had time to assess the team fully and discuss targets with the board and scouts.

Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford, Pickford! Young, sharp and balls the size of which ol' Buster Gonad would would be impressed by! Seriously one very good and confidant keeper, reckon Sam can get him here without too much trouble, maybe convince Defoe to join us as well. Pickford and that's it. Wickham's already great back up to Benteke and Defoe old, plus won't play. Already sold a player in his mould (DG) so seems pointless. Kone, decent. But we already have great competition at CB.

Scott Dann and McArthur We were close to relegation and everyone was worried that we would lose Zaha, Benteke, Cabaye and Townsend for starters so there are good players to be had from relegated teams They weren't from the relegated market though were they? Just players in a lower division. Both have been excellent in general for us too. Gems can be found everywhere if you have a manager/scouting system with enough nous.
We're the Arthur over ere! |

Just another thought about Sahko: if I was a top ten goalie and choosing a club, the idea of Sahko being in front would seriously appeal to me. If I already have good stats, imagine how they'd look after a season or three with Sahko? Clean sheets galore. Lift my value too. Possible targets: Ward getting injured next season could really hurt us so: right back cover for him (maybe the reason Sam might want Kone is that I think he's a decent RB too), a goalie to cover Hennessey, a defensive midfielder to cover Mili (why did that t*** sell Jedinak?), and another Cabaye (Cairney?) if he leaves. Otherwise, if we could keep this lot and buy nobody, surely we'd be OK to avoid relegation again? That was some escape! Lost nearly all our 'easy' matches didn't we and what an aweful run home!

Joe Hart....say au revoir to Mandanda. Find a decent rb and striker from Europe. The days of cherry picking from relegated clubs on the cheap are gone.

If we let go of all the deadwood we're left with 15 players and we probably need to spend less than others this summer after the January window of nearly £40mil. Still want to spend £20 mil on a goalkeeper? What about a CB and the other positions you mention? And what if Wilf or Andros get injured, or other players come to that?
