I think SP and the board will bid for Sakho but in all honesty it will severely dent SA's other transfer plans if Palace pay £30m plus huge wages. Liverpool are hard bargainers but if nobody else comes in for Sakho, he doesn't agree personal terms elsewhere or he prefers to come here who knows! But there is no denying Sakho is a class article and he was an absolute f*"king diamond for Palace. As ParchmoreEagle said he lifts everyone around him and is another line of defence in himself. Pay the bindippers they will never get over it and will also get another hiding next season. May also make Cabaye mind up to stay next season (if he was thinking of moving on)! I for one want to see loads more of Sakho bring it on!

Why would anyone want to go to West Ham. This season has been a terrible advert for them. Playing at that ground with the fans miles away and half of the seats empty can't be that much fun. I'd imagine it would be much more satisfying as a pro to play in front of a full ground, with fans singing and right on top of the pitch. Players will go to clubs willing to pay them the most money. Anyone who thinks that players go to a club because of their fanbase is deluded. West Ham have a lot more to offer than us. Very big crowds, new stadium, better facilities etc but as io said it is about money. The more they get the easier it is to sign them.

It seemed yesterday by Sakho's comments that he wants to play elsewhere And yet he was at the Hull game on crutches and joined the squad on the pitch when he could just have easily been back on Merseyside. That sounds like a man rushing to get away.
Cynic or realist? It's a fine line! |

West Ham's new stadium is not a great place to watch football and I doubt it's a great place to play either. They also only have lots more "fans" when they bother to turn up. Lots of those season tickets have gone to people who aren't West Ham fans as well. I've no idea how our training ground compares with West Ham or other clubs in the league but I imagine it's fine and not off putting.

At this stage all we can do is hope and dream. We all know what he does for us. He would grow into one of our greatest ever players and put us in the top 10, which we are only a few points out of now.

I'd love him to sign for us. We do need to comply with FFP though so if we spent £25 million plus on a defender, how much would that leave to spend elsewhere?
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

I think Sakho has made friends in the dressing room and is happy when they are happy .( and perhaps wasn't so happy in the Liverpool dressing room). But players like him want to be on the big stage. The Premier League is the biggest league (probably) but a European club in the Champions league is bigger.

That article finishes with this: "The Scotland midfielder James McArthur has attracted tentative interest from the newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion."

It's not like he's local either, coming back from rehab in France to attend this weekend. Sometimes, just sometimes, a player sees more in a club than status & pound notes & a regular start would lift his international career again - especially if his form continues.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |
