Bare bones today and not much on the bench. Team looked tired too. Not going to single out Delaney because he wouldn't have been starting if we didn't have 12 or so centre backs in the physio room. I think Sam thrashed a lot of the team to win 6 out of 8 and they look f**ked, but hopefully the groundwork is done and an odd point or two will see us safe.

Spot on we look absolutely done in, couldn't see us scoring at all today. Hopefully week off ready for next game.Respect to the lads but I'm just worn out watching the last few games.

spot on

Delaney's strike at the Burnley goal was a phenomenal effort yesterday coupled with world class save by Tom Heaton.

We are down to our 4th and 5th choice centre-halfs.

If we did not have DD as obviously so many want, who would we have instead?

Probably no one if you think about it because it is unlikely we are going to sign a top-quality defender, who will only play if the first 3 choices are unavailable.

I am glad he is still with us and he deserves another 12m.

been decent enough over the years but obvs past it now.

should have a clause in his contract that he get a thousand quid fine every time he plays that needless hoof out of defence

whatever happens over the Summer, Damo has been a legend over the last 5 years. The way he owned Diego Costa just a little while ago was in itself legendary.

but follow the link below and you will see that of the 10 oldest players in the Prem, many are goalkeepers, some have got relegated, some have big injuries.....leaving Damo as almost the oldest outfield player in the whole Prem.

If you are a worldy-class type like John Terry, Pirlo, or Maradonna you may get away with loss of pace. But the prem is ruthless and unforgiving. So even if Damo can contribute, i doubt he could do so for more than 60 minutes at a time.

Old attacking players can use guile instead of pace. Old defenders ? need lots of pace and stamina. Sorry to be ruthless but statistics do not lie. We have still lost a lot of games in the last 18 months.

When we win Delaney is a legend when we lose he is a liability. None so fickle as a Palace fan.
He didnt have a great game, But to call him a liability is ridiculas and some have very short memories.
We question players loyalty but it works both ways, as soon as a player comes in the existing player in that position suddenly becomes s***. If Kelly has a bad game he wont be up to it either.

Milo whats his face, with Kelly at CB. MacArthur and Cabaye in the middle.

Damo looked out of his depth against Burnley, Man city will tear him apart.

The City game may suit Damo better as we will be sitting deep and hoping for the best. However, can Big Sam tell him not to hoof that soul destroying long diagonal every time.....we just can't afford to give the ball back so often!

Not so sure. Still a reasonable back up.

Like BS thinking with defence today trying to get more mobile players trying to stop city quickness around the box

It's all well and good god rolling your sleeves up, but if you wouldn't mind playing and earning your wage we'd be grateful
