Ollie O'Dwyer is an up and coming centre half at the club. He's 19, about 6'7" and plays regularly for the U23s. Highly thought of. He's a family friend of mine and I've known him since he was a kid. I did message him this morning about the possibility of him making the bench due to Sahkos injury and he said maybe. We will have to see. I'm struggling to think who else we bring in unless Fryers makes the bench and god forbid another centre half gets injured and Ward has to move into centre back? Edited by kennybrowns leftfoot (27 Apr 2017 11.22am) 6'7 at the age of 19... Fecking hell thats a big lad.

This is a bad way of looking at it, but hopefully Sakho's injury will fall right into out hands as far as signing him is concerned. If he's out for 4 months and back in training around August we could take a look at him in the next window. Six months tops then he won't have a preseason, but would be nice to think that we'd get him on the cheap or at least without much competition once he is right again. Shame as he really seemed to be enjoying his football here. To be fair he didn't have any games like henplayed for us so him missing a preseason shouldn't be an issue.

This is tragic news if it is as bad an injury as it looked last night. Watching the match in the pub, there were times when the people watching the game just burst out laughing at the incredible talent on show from Mama. The time he was under pressure in his box and just came up with a completely unexpected and audacious back heel. That vision and execution was world class. And the time when the ball was coming across in the air in the penalty box and he just defused the whole situation by laying off a cushioned header to the keeper. He was everywhere and seemed at times to look like an old fashioned 'Libero', influencing more and more in more and more areas of the pitch. I remember thinking that, no matter what the score, I would go home happy from just having witnessed the sheer class of what I had seen; the reason I watch the game. In the end, I went home feeling so sad that a man who is absolutely on top of his world class game, looking forward and hoping to regaining his position in the french team after he was robbed of his last tournament by an administrative cock-up. I've been upset all day. It just isn't fair. I would rate him as one of the most gifted and classy players ever to have pulled on a Palace shirt. I can only recall Attilio Lombardo exerting as much influence on a game as Mama. Edited by Glazier#1 (27 Apr 2017 7.15pm)

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

UPDATE: Scans done, showing some bruising to the ligaments but not as bad as we first feared. Hopefully back before the seasons end. [Tweet Link]

Edited by Mad4palace (28 Apr 2017 9.15am) That sounds promising, let's hope it's right, would be great for him , and I would love to see him play for Palace again. Fantastic to watch him play.

When bad news is fantastic news. Just bruising and a strain? Next season he'll need to go on loan again to a club with no so much pressure like European football to recuperate and get fit and play a few games as and when and where is he is loved and where he is comfortable.
