One loss does not a season make. The assumption seems to be that we should have beaten Southampton at their place. I don't buy into that. The crucial games for us are definitely Burnley, Leicester and Hull at home. Win those and we are safe. Even if we win two out of three we'd still have 37 points and that may be enough. I'm optimistic that we can also take points from Liverpool and Arsenal so all is not doom and gloom. Totally disagree that we will get any points v Liverpool and Arsenal.

Three wins out of eight should be doable. Pity about tonight's result because I thought we would scramble over the finishing line to get a draw ... but it only proves that nothing can be taken for granted. That 18th spot will be unclaimed for a few weeks yet but I'd like to reserve it for West Ham!

We were completely spent from the Chelsea game. Anyone there tonight could see that. That doesn't mean that this has become any more or less serious. We just didn't turn up today because we left too much on the pitch at Stamford bridge on Saturday. I expect us to turn up to Selhurst on Monday, rested and recharged and with something to prove after that defeat.

Sunderland was a real 'Nadir' but I did feel there was still time to turn around our fortunes. Situations do change game-by-game so it is understandable that ones viewpoint can change as well. Given our injury woes, remaining fixtures and those of our rivals I feel we will fall short. I am deeply saddened.
Why do you feel we are less likely to stay up than Swansea?

Just looking at our injury situation, remaining fixtures of the teams etc. And whilst Swansea lost to Tottenham they were leading until very late on. We have had our good run but alas I feel it is going to be negatives from now on. We will surely go down to Arsenal and I fear it will be a drubbing.

We have just lost our first game in five matches. I couldn't bring myself to read all the comments but after scanning a few I have to say "get a grip" to you those who think we're down. We're in better shape than most people thought we'd be in at this stage! COYP!

I can't say I feel optimistic about our chances. Swansea have too much class across the board to go down. When Llorente is back they'll pick up some results and they don't have the hardest of run-ins. Hull, meanwhile, have undergone an alarming transformation in recent weeks with their new manager and I wouldn't stick any money on that ending any time soon. Let's just hope that when we play them at home on 13th May we are still in with a shout, because we have one hell of a storm to weather before we get to that point. I'm not saying I don't think it can be done because we beat the league leaders after all, but our nails are definitely gonna be shredded over the next few months. No two ways about it.

Willo, I think he's saying shut up, or you can go and worry on your own or sit fretting in usual silence in the main stand.

My view was clearly shared by many of our supporters. It was a huge upset, many perhaps concluding it was a 'freak' result and as such it was hardly predictable.
