I think the only "must win" is Hull at home. We need points elsewhere too, but a loss to Hull would be devastating. Unless we have sufficient points before that game.

We will finish 12th or 13th. Last 9 games collecting 11 points.

Merson has done pre match predictions all season on the sky website, and I've always been surprised how positive he has been about us, often predicting a positive result for us. If we lose tomorrow night we could easily go on a poor run. Goes to show what he knows, as we've been s**t all season

Really, if we win three games out of our remaining list, we'll stay up. Play like we did Saturday, and we'll be safe by the end of April.

I've always liked Merson, but this is not a must win. A point is always a great result away, and we have other winnable matches and then there is a chance for points against the big clubs.
Speroni would've saved it! |

Jesus what an idiot. According to him tomorrow night's game is a must win because of the hard fixtures we have coming up. Clearly he didn't notice that we had quite a hard fixture on Saturday and didn't do too badly or that 4 of our next 5 games after this are at home. And how does a man who can't even pronounce even the easiest foreign names hold down a job as a football analyst anyway? To be honest, every game is a must win until we get to mathematical safety. Sure, Saturdays win has given us respite, but we can't assume anything anymore and on paper we do have a tricky set of fixtures which tomorrow seem the easiest, given current trends. This time tomorrow, if we had 34 points imagine the feeling - so i understand where he is coming from. And going back to saturday, AT 'ball to hand' could have easily been given, any one of their 40 shots on goal could have gone in if WH had his usual display, so yeah we got the rub of the green for a change.

We need 3 more wins for 40, possibly 2 wins for 37 will be enough, maybe 1 win and 2 draws for 36 will do. Our goal difference is far superior to all but Middlesboro. So this is worth another point. If we get to 37 points then both Swansea and Hull need four positive results out of their last eight games, and Boro need five, just for completeness Sunderland will need six. This is the major factor for me. two clubs out of the three below us need to perform out of their skins, if we perform poorly - not one. Every game that they drop points, or we pick them up is another nail in the coffin. I can see anything over 36 points being enough for 17th place this season, but 37 points has got to be enough to stay up.

if we go down, it's cos we absolutely mishandled the Swansea game, gung ho going for glory, losing shape and discipline. That game should never have been the embaressment it was - that's where I point the finger.
