The only armed people I saw were some US soldiers and some contractors / mercenaries (who I got on quite well with, as I brought quite a bit of p*** with me). Even travelling too and from the compound, the armour on the bus, made it almost impossible to see out the windows but for a slat. All I saw was the airport, the inside of a bus and a compound surrounded by f**k all but sand. But if you're going into a warzone, as a civilian, take p*** and whiskey.

Can you give us a clue as to what p*** is. The only thing I can think of, that would be in short supply in Iraq, is pork.

Its the shortage of suitable pork material that makes p*** a commodity.

Guess that's why they have military court martials tribunals. Once he was convicted of murder, the sentence could only be a life sentence (mandatory for anyone convicted of murder). Its the Army service that convicted him or murder. Oddly its civilian courts that have reversed their decision and quashed the murder conviction (the Royal Courts of Justice). Personally, I cannot judge the guy, quite rightly, I've never been in that situation. I don't agree with what he did, but I can understand why he did it. And that's why now the government is looking at Court Marshalls due to being so biased and making themselves look good to the public. I have stood as a guard at a court martial and it was a load of bollocks and we guessed what the outcome would be from the start and we were not wrong. The poor bloke in the dock went down and his defence was just not given the chance to prove their case. As in the case of Sgt Blackman the board wanted to look the part in the eyes of the press and the public.
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

I'm wary of any system that doesn't have a true Jury, and it does seem that court martials and military tribunals have too much power.

I'd imagine the chance of a fair trial in a court martial is much lower, given that most of the people involved are employed on behalf of those bringing the trial. To me, it seems a bit like having a trial in which the Judge is employed by the CPS.

I see that you have got rid of your little rant as it was total bullsh1t anyway. You as a Diplomat in a war zone you gotta be joking. You have shown yourself to be a little bit naïve and a bit childish. If someone shot at you you would fill your pants with the brown stuff. What a total loser you turned out to be.

I read it as the soldier putting the seriously injured fella out of his misery and a nasty and painful end of life. I saw the vid too and still hold to that.
