If rumours about Neymar are to be believed then if Wilf goes anywhere, it won't be Chelsea.

Seen this so many times before. Palace player comfortable at Palace. Is big fish in little pond. Moves to big pond and doesn't achieve anything of note. But for every Wayne Routledge there is a Nathaniel Clyne or Jose Fonte who both achieved a great deal since leaving us

Whether it's too late to completely nurture it is yet to be seen but if a top manager believes in him and can get the best out of him he may well achieve more than even someone such as Clyne

Now this is what I will never get. I support Palace because it's part of my community. If I didn't come from round here I wouldn't support them. I will try to look after and support anyone from my community. To me Palace and South London are totally intertwined. You can take the man out of South London but not South London out of the man. If they move on its still in the blood.

If it was in the blood then they'd stay with us but that's all bollocks! Like I say, players come and go. All the time they're playing for The Palace then I'll love 'em unconditionally. Unless they're called Trevor Aylott.

During our promotion season I thought that Wilf could go to the very top and now he finally seems to be making the next jump. I really hope that he stays with us next season to continue his development but for that to happen we have to pay him more than anyone else at the club - he's worth that and if/when he does leave we will get one hell of a transfer fee.

If I claimed I follow and support ex Palace players I'd be lying. I might be interested in how they're doing more than years ago now that the money can set you and your family up for life is so huge that you'd be a fool to turn it down or not prefer to have your agent put feelers out there so I don't blame them. But there's a difference in following and supporting someone and showing an interest. I follow and support Palace. I show an interest in how past players are doing. Excellent, good, average, bad, whatever. 'Support' them? What? I don't wish any bad fortune on them but I don't support them.
