I put in a smiley face when it was meant to be (H) due to my lack of IT skills, incidentally.

Swansea and Boro drawing was a great result for palace with our goal difference better than Swansea and ours alot better than hulls means both now have to win 2 games just to catch us with Swansea and hull now having to win aleast4 games out of there last 8 games but still all to play for if we could beat Southampton it would be a massive result and would give us much needed breathing space between as and the bottom 3

For what it is worth, the bookies favour Sunderland, Boro, Hull and Swansea to go down (in that order). We are next, at around 3-1. Then it's a big jump to Watford who are around 12-1. Edited by peterg (30 Mar 2017 3.08pm) We're now 8/1, best odds for a long time. Doesn't mean much though, the odds change all the time, the bookies don't really know any better than we do.

Agree that if we beat Hull and Burnley we're pretty much safe. Can't see Swansea or Hull getting more than 35 pts

I know it sounds a bit bonkers after yesterday but our next four games are very, very tough indeed and points may be scarce. It will not be too bad at all if we are still above the drop zone after that as Swansea's and Hull's four games, on paper at least, are not as tough as our's. I would very much take four draws and four points as it stands. Hoping for five but two or less then squeaky bum time again. Edited by Kermit8 (02 Apr 2017 5.06pm)

Swansea and Boro drawing a cracking result for us. If we are lucky, Hull will draw with Boro midweek too. A Hull win and suddenly we look vulnerable again. I have my eye on the home game to Arsenal in a week and a half- Arsenal looking brittle and shaky, and won't fancy a tricky away trip to Selhurst. We could nick something from that game

Swansea, Boro and Hull all look like s***. We just beat the presumptive champions, took points away at WBA and beat a strong Watford team. It's still going to take all the way to the Hull game to secure safety, but we are definitely a team going in the right direction (joint hottest with Leicester) while two of the relegation slots look like they're taken already.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

It seems like this every year in the Premier League, you can count out teams and then be surprised at the eventual outcome. Boro's season realistically comes down to their next 2 games. If you factor in the positive impact a new manager could have, we really can't expect anything with them yet. I think everyone would agree that S'land have finally got what has looked deserved over the last 3-4 seasons. The last few weeks have condensed the entire bottom half of the table, surprising many and teams like Burnley and West Ham (who weren't even included in relegation run-in articles a month ago) now find themselves involved in an undesirable fight.

I think people are counting out Hull too early. They actually look impressive to me. I've mentioned it before but I think their results are under the radar as they aren't putting together back to back wins. In the last 10 games they have a better record than Leicester and have only lost to Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton and the resurgent champions. With a fairly favourable run in, I still believe they will escape relegation.
