General one game at a time.
We need to beat Watford or as Sam says draw.
IF The other teams win it's all tight again.
The trick is to keep on picking up points.
One game at a time.

i understand the optimism but there is so much to do yet ,and i am pleased that people now realise that we have a proper manager ,so pleased when we got sam ,the previous manager was slowly destroying our football club ,getting rid of ben garner who was instantly snapped up by pulis at w.b.a. was the red flag to me and his quotes like [ i not not care a about conceding goals etc etc ]i feel a lot of players would not have come to palace because of the previous managers reputation of being a prize bullsh*ter ,its not b.f.s or f.s its honest sam or even super sam ,lets just hope we can beat watford because after that game we might not get another point from our next 3 games

It's always going to be hard to pick up points at this stage in the season, however, good to see players now taking up the challenge to stay in the Premiership. It's never over until the "Big Lady" sings!

Agree with what you say. Very true on the bit in bold. However, I believe this team will beat a top side before the season is out. On form, our 1st 11 is really very good.

I'm confident we'll stay up now, my only concern is how much money we're spending on transfers and wages - if and when we have another poor season and go down we might end up like Bolton or Charlton - Pulis at West Brom has a much more sustainable model for clubs of our size, though it does involve several 30-something navvies playing horrible football - the yanks are minted but we might be in a bubble that could burst - more fire fighting and cash splashing than strategy it seems. As for Big Sam and the long ball tag - that is history - so were Pardew and Ollie when they started out - West Ham and Sunderland played cultured thoughtful football under him to my eyes, more crosses from deep than some but these were always allied to very intelligent movement from the forwards - that's why he was so p*ssed off with doogie a few years back when he incorrectly stereo-typed him as a route 1 merchant.

You think Livermeore, Fletcher, chadli, rondon etc are on peanuts. Pulis doesn't worry about structure.

I agree with you there. I said this when we were in for Big Sam.It just so happens that the long ball, dig in deep method is a method employed by less technical teams as to explore their other strengths. Sam can make teams play good football, like does no one remember him at Bolton when they were in the UEFA Cup several years running?

Whether we stay up or not who knows but we do seem to have some spirit and fight now and those wins - West Brom in particular - will make them feel good about themselves again.
the new blood isn't affected by Pardew and the poison around the place so it is looking good but there is still a long way to go - although I am now way more confident than I was.
I wonder where all the Pardew lovers are right now?

Big Sam is a proper manager in every sense of the word. Can't believe people doubted him when he joined us .. .especially after inept Pardew, who just
buys a big name and thinks everything just falls into place as a result!

Only time will tell if he keeps us up, but we have a fighting chance now with his experience and quality of the players he's brought into the club in January!

AWhere are the Pardew lovers? Asking Ben Garner why he left and how good West Brom have been since he went there and how come he was promoted from coach to assistant to Pulis whilst Pardew surrounded himself with people who weren't allowed to challenge him or think for themselves. Could you imagine Sammy Lee getting off the bench to direct instructions under super al? Never saw super al shouting like Sam in the final minutes at West Brom did we? Nah just see what happens. 5-4? Oh well.

However, I'll admit Kaos, I was concerned it was going to go badly. The one thing we had to remember he was only able to play 1 new player for a while after the window closed and again we left our business late. Once he's been able to play 3 or 4 it's all coming together. Still a long way to go so I'm not falling into who we buy and sell threads yet.

Never fear the Pardew dancers will be back, never gone away and if there is a big stumble we will hear all about him again.
I am so relieved to see the spirit back in our team and on this board, we had all suffered for so long and Big Sam has intelligently used his knowledge and skill for the benefit of our club.
Lets hope we will be cheering every game as we used to even if we only draw!!!.

Nice to have a manager that doesn't constantly talk about/put a price on our best players or tout himself and his lofty ambitions after a good run of games (not that Sam would now tout himself for the England job).

Also fitness of players seems to be steadily getting better and for all the Pardew lovers going on about Sam doing even worse than Pards after the first few games, I don't think they appreciated that the lack of fitness would take time to sort out and only when that improved so could our fortunes.

On the phone to The Sun or The Mirror probably.
