As someone else mentioned, win all the winnable games means 37 points, which is JUST enough probably.

The chances of us winning all those winnable games though? Slim IMO. It wouldn't at all surprise me to draw or lose to Watford now because that would be the Palace way.

Obviously anything less than 37 points means relegation. So unfortunately it could still prove to be too little too late.

If Sam would have come in a month earlier we'd probably have the points required now for a couple of slip-ups, which is frustrating. As it stands, we have to be perfect against the teams we can beat or pull a few upsets a long the way.

Most seasons I'd say we'll get a couple of upsets but we've not really looked that way this season.

I disagree. The last two games we have looked like a different team.......which we are!! I could see the new Palace surprising a couple of big boys, especially if Hennessy behaves.

Fortunately for us, whilst 37 points may not absolutely guarantee safety, the three below us can hardly be said to be knocking on the door of survival. I'd consider Boro and Sunderland as nailed-on relegation candidates; the only team that really worries me are Hull, who since sacking Phelan have looked a different side. They've got potential to grab a few points off the big boys, and they're also playing the other four teams in the bottom five (including us) in the run-in.

Yep, its in their hands too, all 6 pointers but tough to get all 3 points in
Hull home vs Swansea, Boro, Sunderland
Away to us of course

Possibly easiest game is their home match against Watford as they are safe and nowt to play for.

I'm guessing they'll go down (just)

So I've had a look at the bottom 6 clubs previous seasons at gameweek 28 and it's conclusion (in the format of points before after, points gained and position before after, positions gained/lost and teams in italics relegated):

2015/16:
Bournemouth..32 42 +10 15 16 +1
Swansea......30 47 +17 16 12 +4
Sunderland...24 39 +15 17 17 0
Norwich......24 34 +10 18 19 -1
Newcastle....24 37 +13 19 18 +1
Aston Villa..16 17 +1. 20 20 0

2014/15:
Sunderland...26 38 +12 15 16 -1
Hull.........25 35 +10 16 18 -2
Aston Villa..25 38 +13 17 17 0
QPR..........23 30 +7. 18 20 -2
Burnley......22 35 +13 19 19 0

Leicester....18 41 +23 20 14 +6

2013/14:
Norwich......28 33 +5. 15 18 -3
Palace.......27 45 +18 16 11 +5
WBA..........25 36 +11 17 17 0
Sunderland...24 38 +14 18 14 +4
Cardiff......22 30 +8. 19 20 -1
Fulham.......21 32 +11 20 19 +1

2012/13:
Newcastle....30 41 +11 15 17 -2
Southampton..37 41 +4. 16 16 0
Wigan........24 36 +12 17 18 -1
Aston Villa..23 41 +18 18 15 +3
Reading......23 28 +5. 19 19 0
QPR..........20 25 +5. 20 20 0

2011/12:
Aston Villa..33 38 +5. 15 16 -1
Blackburn....25 31 +6. 16 19 -3
Bolton.......23 36 +13 17 18 -1

QPR..........22 37 +15 18 17 +1
Wigan........22 43 +21 19 15 +4
Wolves.......22 25 +3. 20 20 0

Finally, this season, 2016/17:
Leicester....27
Swansea......27
Palace.......25
Boro.........22
Hull.........21
Sunderland...19

This season is not usually low by any stretch of the imagination. I haven't done any averages or anything like that, because I need to start work, but the average for 18th place is around 36/37, with the minimum at 33 (Norwich 2013/14) and the highest being Newcastle at 37 (2015/16).

I could go into the form tables going into the runs, their opponents they payed, but that'll take me all day. I'll go into it more at my lunch break if anyone's interested/if I want to do more anyway.

If we can keep building our confidence I think we can give all of those teams a good game. Except for City.

Obviously I'm not saying we'll win them all. But I don't think we should fear any. Points up for grabs in every match.

Plus last game of the season United might not be playing for anything, for that matter if Chelsea can wrap up the title early we might meet a City team not playing for much either.

Arsenal are in melt down.

If we get at Liverpool then we might be able to give them a game.

Really think the run in looks good.

We can give every one a tough game. City play open and give you a chance. Chelsea are the best team but only beat us 1-0 we are better now. Spurs are very good they are in top form but by the time we meet who knows.UTD i hope will be a nothing game. Arsenal always beat us. Liverpool are in and out so its on the day. I would bet on us getting four points at least.

From what you have shown above the average is around 11 points from the last 10 games. If that is the case then your looking at around 32/33 will take you down this season. I do feel if we can get to 35 we will be fine. I honestly see two more wins and maybe a few draws will keep us up. The quicker we get the next 6 points, the easier it will be on the team.

Which one? Leicester or Hull?

As expected there were wins for Hull and Bournemouth.
Huge weekend ahead
Everton to beat Hull
Sunderland to beat Burnley
Bournemouth and Boro to draw

Palace to beat Watford and open up a gap

A hopeful Parrot
