He was a great shot stopper, but found wanting under crosses in his prime, I doubt he has improved with age. Mandanda didn't show a commanding presence in his area.

I wholeheartedly concur with these sentiments.

If anyone shoots straight at Hennessey (which was all Boro could do on Saturday), then he's your man. As little as an inch to his left or right and he's f*cked. Far, far too one-dimensional for the Premiership.

Uncontested bullet header from 3 yards, yeah he had a good chance of stopping that! What about the one he touched on to he post, Hennessey wouldnt have got anywhere near that one! Edited by the silurian (27 Feb 2017 10.15pm) It wasn't three yards more like six and it was a header ffs not a full blooded shot. As for saying he wouldn't have got near the one Mandanda saved he was fast enough across his line to save Wilshere's free kick against Bournemouth.

It's just Wayne that isn't good enough. Edited by Brentmiester_General (27 Feb 2017 6.24pm) Not at all. I still think he's the best of our 3, but he will never be accepted whilst 'Jules' is still playing. SM isn't interested, so best if all 3 go and we start again.

Edited by the silurian (27 Feb 2017 10.15pm) WBA have scored more from set-plays this season than any other PL team and central defender Gareth McAuley is their joint top scorer.

Saturday could be painful if WBA do that at every opportunity.

Ok it was a header, headers can be pretty powerful, as was that one,or else all headers woud be saved if they were just weak....whatever you hennessey lovers say..he wouldnt have got anywhere near that shot Mandanda touched/saved on to the post...I am not championing Mandanda, I just think we havent seen enough of him to make that judgement, however we have seen (more than) enough of Hennessey to know that he is nowhere near good enough for the Premier league. I really believe we need a new keeper in the summer.
