My junior school was less than 2 miles from Selhurst and yet in a class of around 30, only 3 of us were Palace. I suppose it was the impact of Kevin Keegan's Liverpool and the then mighty Leeds,,,,,,and palace being crap of course

Took the words right out of my mouth! Some people eh! Yeah right, what's with this nonsense when we're still to fully exhaust the considerations of whether we should be playing 3 at the back - or is it 5, really?? - or do we first need to further guess at our training regime, given the demands on the modern wing-back, and maybe therefore we shouldn't we be bidding on Klaus Whogives of FC Tedium, as he's ace on Football Manager - anyone got a link?? And blah blah blah blah f***ing blah. What's the matter with you people?? Someone gives some form of a rare diversion from the typical unimaginative, unoriginal, predictable, plodding, dullarse s***e that proliferates on here and you get stuck into them. I bet you thought David Mellor's 6-0-6 improved on Danny Baker's. Anyone think we shouldn't have appointed Sam Allardyce...??
As a woman, I can step aside, or step up my game... |

F*cking awful. I was there at Arsenal, and at Charlton. The worst was when Southampton got that fluke equaliser the match before that made it 2-2. Otherwise we'd have been safe. Agree, I always say it was the Southampton game that put us down. Was always going to be a tall order to get the win at the Valley.

You pay a load of money and anticipate great things, yet after a load of ups and downs suddenly it's all over and you're left in tears having been screwed. And you often end up with a horrible burning sensation, on account of there having been at least 17 other guys in ahead of you

Normal. It also creates a desire for success which can only be sated by winning loads of games in a season. When we do it makes every week brilliant.

Hurts really badly but when it sinks in we look forward to the next season with hope. Worst time was when Malcolm Allison was manager and after being relegated, we lost the first game at home 4-1 to Notts county and got relegated again.

You do get over it though. Like anything in life what is happening at the time becomes the norm and reality. You get relegated and feel bad for a while but when the new season comes around there is a new challenge to look forward to. It ain't the end of the world! Exactly, come august you are raring to go.

Gut wrenching, vomit inducing, like a kick in the bollocks. That is what relegation feels like.
