We put in an abject, dire and pathetic performance on Saturday and the only player who is attracting vitriol is Hennessey ! Aren't any others in focus after that game ? This is the point I am making, I am not thinking about historical adverse comments about certain players who of course have attracted negatives on HOL.

Ledley has had it bad. I think he shouldn't play again unless a last resort.

Puncheon needs to be dropped. As soon as we've got someone playing off Benteke and central mid sorted then Puncheon needs benching for quite a while.

Don't get me started on all of the CBs.

That good enough for you? 3 definite passengers who need dropping indefinitely before we look at CBs.

Yes, let's start a 'Thread' on each and every one of them and we can put each and every one of them 'In the stocks' where Hennessey is at the present time !!!!

League 1/International first choice keeper at best.

Other Welsh GK's in most recent squad- Danny Ward (Championship), Owain Williams (Scottish Premiership). Other recent GK call ups- from Preston and Barnsley

And although it's early days and hopefully he will improve, from what I've seen Van Aanholt doesn't look any better than Kelly to me. As for Hennessey who'd be a goal keeper? Our best keeper ever was probably Nigel Martyn and I seem to recall that he had his weakness and regularly got caught off his line.Thank goodness we didn't have the internet in those days. He could've been destroyed before he started.

Kelly is not nearly as bad as many on here seem to think. Tomkins and Ledley have been worse this season IMO.

He will make his own mind up weighing up all the factors as to whether to remove Hennessey from the 'Firing line', he won't take advice from HOL !

No but people from the crowd wil sway a decision. And that is what's need now to save us.

Exactly. The international goal keeper argument does not stand up when there is no competition for the shirt. I could be England's number one bogey picker if there was no else picking their nose.

Do you really think a change of keeper is going to save us? Burnley had Tom Heaton, who is excellent playing the whole season, they went down. It didn't help as the team in front of him were crap.

Can you work it out a goalkeeper isn't our only problem.

The team in front of Hennessey are not crap. Not by a long chalk. It's probably the best team we've ever had. The goal keeper has never put in a match winning display. Speroni used to do that on the regular. Anyone who can't see that is either blind or deluded. We need a goalkeeper capable of being a match winner again.

Exactly. As we've seen in the past, Dann is excellent, and Tomkins was good at West Ham, and (whilst overall done poor) has made some quality tackles and blocks from time to time. Technically they are brilliant, but what the f*** has happened I don't think any of us will ever know.

God help us if the manager ever reads, let alone takes notice of, these boards.
To single out Hennessey is unfair. He makes errors but so do most keepers and he hasn't got much of a shield in front of him. At least 5 other first teamers deserve the sack.
Too many on here are abusive not only of the players but also of any posters who have a contrary opinion to their own.
I am beginning to yearn for more fair minded people
who express their opinion sensibly to come on these boards - but we seem to get the opposite.

He isn't doing himself any favours either though. The defence, including the keeper, seem to play in panic mode, and he clearly isn't inspiring confidence in the defence either.

He was however better than Mcarthy, who was terrible, and is probably now a better option than Jules, who's probably spent the last too long out of contention to retain his premiership level.

I don't think he's the worst keeper ever, but he's definitely not good enough either. Problem though often is with finding new goalkeepers.

As a 2nd choice, Hennessey makes sense. As first choice, I think it was clear when even the manager who bought him in, kept him on the bench.
