Jan 85. Walking back through South Norwood after losing 2-1 at home to 3rd Division Millwall in the FA Cup, and been surounded by loads of them gloating, I said 'never again'. But I had returned in time for... Lesson from history? Stuck with the manager.

How about our 0-3 collapse in the 2nd half of the play off semi final 1st leg against watford in 2006, we battled through a tough championship season and got in the play offs and then blow it in 45 minutes!! It made the 2nd leg a non event!!

Worst moment was probably hearing on the radio while on holiday that we'd gone into administration and the enforced prompt sale of Victor Moses shortly afterwards was the icing on the top

I remember that. 2:0 away to Newcastle. That and the sacking of 40 back room staff a few days before were the two moments that made the administration 'real'. Up until then, surreally, we had actually done pretty well. Modern palace identity started in that era, defined by a fearless underdog spirit. It's tragic that it's ended this year.

Add to that list - The train ride home after getting relegated at Cardiff. No idea when it was, seventies I think. I've been trying to forget it to this day. Thanks

The Brolin debacle has to be up there along with Uncle Ron managing the team. A sad day I was 15 and travelled down on tues/weds to ninian park from n wales by train about 5 hours Think we drew 1 1 did Barry score ? After the game I took a train to bridgend to stay with family and sobbed all the way with Cardiff fans thinking they were tears of joy In the days of no colours or you were due a beating

Aresenal away 1993 Southampton home 2005 (for some reason even worse for me than the week later at the valley) Leceister play off final Claridge shinning it in Watford play off semi first leg 0-3 Port Vale at home sometime in the 90's. At the final whistle they celebrated in front of the away fan like they had won the cup. Turns out on meeting some Vale fans at Victoria after that they hadn't won away for a couple of years. On the face of it the Port Vale game was nowhere near as big a disappointment as Saturday and I am still truly gutted however it doesn't make my top 5 purely because this side has lacked fight and a spine for over a year now and almost nothing surprises me with how low they can sink and how little fight they put up in what are massive games (for the fans at least), time after time they fail to turn up for big games and get beaten with a whimper. Unless there is a big reversal between now and May I am almost apathetic about how little this bunch of overpaid mercenaries can achieve. Nothing will surprise me.

Ending the season in the bottom half of the 3rd Division South and, consequently, being a founder member of the 4th Division was another one.
