Whats the point in abusing the players?

Spot on. The atmosphere would have been that poisonous a long time ago if it wasn't for them.

The backing this team has had in a full year of absolute s* is something palace fans can be very proud of, but for those fans to be rewarded by that performance leaves me speechless. The game was done by half time, but even in the second half they looked like they were just going through the motions. I finally got my daughter up there today and, in all seriousness, I've promised to take her to crowborough athletic next time because it will almost certainly be more fun (not to mention a s* load cheaper).

In 40 years of selhurst, that was one of most hostile fan reactions I've witnessed, and it was richly deserved. The backing this team has had in a full year of absolute s*** is something palace fans can be very proud of, but for those fans to be rewarded by that performance leaves me speechless.

The game was done by half time, but even in the second half they looked like they were just going through the motions.

I finally got my daughter up there today and, in all seriousness, I've promised to take her to crowborough athletic next time because it will almost certainly be more fun (not to mention a s*** load cheaper).

Regarding the incident with DD I don't think the idiot that accosted him deliberately singled him out,Damian just happened to be the first player to head for the dressing room. The set up of the team today was totally wrong as others have said why play 3 at the back at home against a team that had won one match away all season and scored only 6 goals defies belief and that is down to SA. We are too slow when in possession going sideways, backwards and then when the oppo has everone marked hoofing up to an isolated Benteke who today did his fair share of wiining those balls but totally lacked any kind of support until Remy came on during the second half. Personally I do not like abusing the team and will not,but today I can undestand the frustration of the support which we are famed for at Selhurst boiling over,in my many years of being a Palace supporter I cannot remember a worse capitulation as what happened in the last few minutes of the first half today. As an oldie I sit in Bock F of the Main Stand and was "delighted" to find out that my Season Ticket for 2017/18 has gone up by £75 which is a 17% hike in price....not a good day to find out methinks,will be letting SP know my thoughts in due course.

I am guilty of shouting at them myself at times, we all vent and show our frustration, I accept that. This last year has been a disaster, especially at home where we all feel short changed.

But I just wanted to remind people that it won't help this club you all love so much if animosity between the fans and the players starts to build.

Well said Bideagle,I go to quite a few away matches and the HF as you say are usually there in force,just like to know how many of their knockers manage an away game ,not many I bet.

I agree, there's a difference between showing displeasure about a particular performance and a toxic atmosphere I think part of the problem is that Allardyce is the manager. His appointment has divided fans and I think that has transferred to the attitude towards the team. I said it in a thread earlier in the week, undermine the manager and you undermine the team the dignified don't even enter in the game

I agree, there's a difference between showing displeasure about a particular performance and a toxic atmosphere

I think part of the problem is that Allardyce is the manager. His appointment has divided fans and I think that has transferred to the attitude towards the team.

A despicable, disappointing and abject display. This is probably the very nadir since I supported the team in the 60s. Yes in my time we have had heavy defeats - I think of the 9-0 at Liverpool and the 5-0 at home to Wimbledon but taking all things into consideration this seems FAR worse than those results when one considers Sunderland's rsults, their place in the table and the fact that until today they had never kept a clean sheet 'Away' this season.Darned shameful and embarrassing.I considered walking out at half-time.

At the time, given the utter dross and capitulation to a bottom of the table team it is understandable that tensions run high and players bear the brunt of supporters frustration and anger.

the money they are earning nowadays they should be playing every game like their family are locked in a basement with a serial killer and if they dont win they'll be ended its the best job in the world. you get: amazing pay a working day of 4/5 hours loads of free stuff 8 week holidays retire at 35 women there is no excuse for a 6 or 7 out of 10 if your playing in the premiergreed and earning over 50k a week. just no excuse what so ever
