Not a hope IMO. 14 months of playing woefully in the league has take its toll. Confidence, ability & the players who were up for a fight have all gone. We are left with a bunch of overpaid mercenaries who only signed for us to raise their profile and live in London ... and a bunch of Championship players who are terrified of playing week in week out.

We deserve to go down. We're being humiliated weekly and it's embarrassing ...

The real battle is how we prepare for next season as it looks like this one is over ...!

Exactly.
It's damage that's been done over a length of time.
How could it possibly be down to Allardyce in his short tenure?
The only light at the end of the tunnel is that Allardyce brought West Ham straight back up.

Our chances have now become very low indeed. Was at the game yesterday and it was a shocking experience. I noticed a lady near me crying. I think we all know barring a miracle (Palace don't do miracles) that we will be in the Championship next year. Most supporters want to see a competitive game that we have a chance of winning. For whatever reason it seems we are not going to get this in the Premier League.

Next weekend is crucial, Swansea v Leicester - if we win and that match is a draw at best, we leap frog them both. Hull have Utd and Sunderland at Southampton. Of all those teams, us playing Stoke looks the easier of options.
On paper we can pull away, but it's just not happening for us. Sometimes it just doesn't work and right now, that's us.

Sunderland were not very good today, but then neither were we.

What royally pissed me off, PVA arm around Defoe at the final whistle having a good old chat - not the time, nor the place. I wanna see our full back limping off having done everything to redeem a 4-0 result.

I agree , thought the same when Cabaye walked the length of the pitch with arm in arm with David Luiz after the Chelsea had beaten us. The Palace players had left the pitch. They should be in the dressing room with their team mates either geeing them up or taking the stick due.

I said before Christmas if we lost this game it would be a marker to me that we would go down. I felt deep sadness at half time as I saw what I had predicted happening in front of my eyes. There still time of course but I do believe in my heart our run in the pl is over

I hope everyone is now resigned to the fact that Palace will be playing Championship football next season. Before the eternal optimists scream, “But there are still 42 points to play for and we have new players to come into the team,” which three teams do these people realistically think will finish below us?

Swansea, Hull and even Sunderland are now showing signs of improvement and taking points off the so-called big teams, while we are having trouble taking points off anyone. OK we beat Bournemouth, but they are in freefall at the moment. Middlesbrough and Leicester could drop into the bottom three, being just one point away now. Even if we overhauled them, we might then need to make up an 8 point gap to catch Bournemouth – in 14 games, the way we are playing? At the moment I can’t see where even another 8 points will come from. SA looks defeated and even the bookies now have us as one of the favourites for the drop and it’s hardly surprising.

I’m now wondering what sort of squad we will have next season? Would this lot get us promoted?

Goalkeepers – Replacement for Hennessey, Speroni

Centre Backs – Dann, Tomkins, Kelly (if renewing), Croll?

Left Backs – Soare, Van Aanholt, Schlupp*

Right Backs – Ward plus a.n.other

Midfield – Milivojevic (might well have a release clause), McArthur, Puncheon, Mutch, Boateng, (Williams?)

Wingers – Sako, Lee, Schlupp*, Kaikai, Townsend?

Forwards – Wickham, Campbell and Appiah (if both renewed), Ladapo?, Anderson?, Jonathan Benteke?

I hope we go down now, sick of supporting players who couldn't careless, feel sorry for mcarthur, zaha and cabaye but they will get new clubs. If we go down at least we can get rid of the deadwood and mercenaries.

Alot of it depends on how our new signings perform. If they can all stay fit and perform I honestly think we will be fine.

If we continue with players like Delaney, Puncheon, Ledley and Hennessey then we are in for a real relegation fight.

What I'm struggling to work out is how in 4 days we can go from a very solid accomplished performance against Bournemouth to that today.

Sunderland were crap. You might find that strange but they were. As soon as they went 1 up they were happy to time waste from the 12th minute. They just couldn't believe there luck that we gifted them goals on a plate.

If you gift Defoe chances he will punish you. He's one of the deadliest finishers the Premiership has seen in my opinion. Doesn't matter how old you are you don't lose that finishing ability.

We need Sahko, Schlupp and Luka up to match fitness asap.

Sam put his finger on the problem in that our home form is the worst in the league whilst we are in the top half of the table for our away form. But we can't survive just on decent away form. And for home form to improve, the mentality of the team has to change 100%. If some of th emore established players cant do that, they will have to be dropped

Could any work on the stadium commence now, so we have to play all our remaining games away from home?
