Alan Shearer however is definitely a "s***" pundit and having seen that tweet I'm never watching any coverage that involves him again. He's entitled to his opinion I suppose but behaving like a boorish, graceless bumpkin on social media is out of order.

Works for me. Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I'm sure he could be replaced by a robot - Artificial Shearer - although people might complain that the new version is much more animated. For me, Shearer is too predictable

He doesn't think outside the box

He doesn't work hard enough to come up with original angles

He's like a wax work dummy with a pre-recorded set of limited verdicts.
