I am not a straw clutcher,however.
The fact that the ball went out for a throw in just before the City goal whilst the physio was ON the pitch treating Schlupp seems to have been whitewashed by the BBC.If someone other than a player is on the field of play the referee shouldn't just let play continue .
What if Palace had broken away and were attacking the City goal I am sure he would have stopped play then.

This!
And I don't know the rules inside and out but surely Schlupp is allowed to get back on the pitch injured or not? If he stood up and ran 5 yards and then collapsed what's the difference? When the ball went out for the throw in it shpuld've been stopped imo.

If you get within three minutes of a point against a team capable of thumping Manchester City and then only concede because your left-back is off the field getting treatment you are not "s***".

Alan Shearer however is definitely a "s***" pundit and having seen that tweet I'm never watching any coverage that involves him again. He's entitled to his opinion I suppose but behaving like a boorish, graceless bumpkin on social media is out of order.

When is offside not offside as he clearly states Ward is playing Colman onside although the line drawn on the TV has Colmans leg in the offside position

They quickly glossed over this and gave little time for the viewers to assess. I agree he should not react like he has on a public forum and the BBC should act, perhaps a campaign should be started to get at least an apology.
As a pundit he is, of course, entitled to his opinion but his twitter rant shows he cannot/will not be impartial as far as Palace is concerned.

You could, of course, choose to ignore him.

Works for me.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

You are, of course, correct (again!) but it grates that he is so overpaid for his punditry (is that a word?) and does not seem to show such bias against any other club.

For me, Shearer is too predictable

He doesn't think outside the box

He doesn't work hard enough to come up with original angles

He's like a wax work dummy with a pre-recorded set of limited verdicts.

I'm sure he could be replaced by a robot - Artificial Shearer - although people might complain that the new version is much more animated.

It's a laugh the BBC going on about whether Citeh should have had a penalty against Spurs the other day.

[Link]

When it's Wilf or Benteke their silence is deafening.

If it was Wilf they would be crucifying him all day long, even if it's a stonewall penalty.

Perhaps Shearer has sour grapes over some comments exchanged between him and Parish on social media (about Zaha funnily enough) so he could be letting this cloud his actual judgement and calling what he wants to see (and has gotten the MOTD panel on board with this).

Anyway, i wouldn't listen to any of those clowns at the BBC, if they spoke and had as much sense as they thought they had, they would be full time managers. Look what happened to Shearer when he stepped up to the plate.
