A progression through the cup (not necessarily all the way to and involving a final but a run of sorts) could be the tonic bfs, the team and the fans all need. We need a bit of joy and some wins from somewhere. Fact is we could exit the cup tomorrow and still be relegated. I would rather if we do end up going down we go down bloody fighting rather than roll over and die

I wouldnt mind us progressing in the cup if we had a big enough squad to cope with it. At the moment we dont. Risking players getting injured and distracting them from the league is something we cannot afford. Would give the first team a rest apart from the ones that are lazy feckers

The voice of reason in my house is my 11 year old son.He is off school ill today and I mentioned in conversation I am going to the game tonight . Was met with a very serious (he's never serious about anything) reply of ' I hope Bolton knock us out. Our priority is the league. We had a dreadful second half of last season while all our focus went on the fa cup'

Ok son! Thanks for that

That boy is far ahead of his age in thinking. I remember when I used to sulk for a week if we lost! Come to mention it,I still do!!

Bless him......... he's wrong though!

At this stage we need the confidence of a win and a clean sheet.

A defeat at home to Bolton tonight will not help our recovery!

I am of the same thinking so myself and the boy discussed it lol. That's nothing I took my 5 year old to stoke in the cup last season . Front row seats next to the tunnel. And we won. He came home and decided he wanted to support arsenal. He still like a wearing his palace shirt though. Bit confused bless him. Need to keep up with the mind training on my daughter. Still time to get her and her little brother on board

I am almost hoping Bolton win in the vain hope that it will mean we have reached the bottom, that the shocked players will suddenly find their inner pride and focus again, and that they will come out snarling for the rest of the season.

I don't see a drab victory helping our Prem mentality at all. A stunning 7-0 one yes.

Ha ha - I chose Arsenal *spit* as my team for a week or two aged 6. Even got my mum to buy their 'Good Old Arsenal' hit record. Thank christ that phase was very short-lived. They are my least favourite London team by far now.

Tonight is huge, we desperately need a win, hopefully an emphatic one.
But what we definitely don't want to do is lose at home to a side from the third division. If that happened imagine the effect on the players and their already fragile confidence,it doesn't bear thinking about.
Also I hope there is no repeat of the embarrassing reaction of some Palace fans as there was at half-time in the Swansea game, that doesn't help at all.

How many kids eactly do you have?
Do you live in a shoe?

None of my 3 children support Palace in fact they take the piss that i support them. Chelsea, Arsenal, United says it all really. Only consolation is that it took the guilt away when i used to beat them.

If one of them still supports United you're not beating them hard enough.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.
