Thought he played very well tonight, so well that I was sure Southgate was in the stadium somewhere as that's generally the only time he can be bothered.

Behave, he is an England internationalist, he knows how this league works. He is not some wet behind the ears boy trying to make it through the ranks. We paid good money for him, he should be doing much better than he is. I will agree some of the criticism he got from the fans last night was out of order but we cant be making excuses for him.

Doesn't matter one bit. He joined right smack bang in the middle of the Pardew mess where NO ONE other than Wilf performed. Pardew has managed to make Dann a bumbling mess at the back. Pardew's odd tactics which Sam called out might I add of just hoofing it up to bentekes head all the time. Sams come in, were playing it more to his feet and running off him and crossing it into the box and look what happens. AT assist CB brace. Does.t matter who you are, joining a club in crisis mode is difficult.

Thought he did really well last night, put a great shift in, was always wanting the ball, set up the goal and was involved in the equaliser too. Not everything came off for him but thats what happens with wingers and obviously his dribbling is not as good as Wilf's but we've been blessed with one of the best dribblers in the world so tough to compare him to that. Still got a lot of stick last night, some of our fans are pretty horrible and I think the fact that these fans thought he was going to be a big success makes them hate him even more! While he's our player lets get behind him, its not helping our cause if we abuse him every time he does something sh*t as he'll just lose more and more confidence

I will never abuse a Palace player as long as they are trying. Townsend did put in the effort last night. He lost the ball a few times but fought to get it back. If he wants to play for us then I think we should stick with him. He was better last night but let's not get too carried away, Saturday will be a better test.

Big Fat Sam has to tell Mr. Townsend that, what he wants from him is crosses from the left wing to try and feed our Big Striker Benteke, and Wilf wil do it from right side of the field. He should not focus on cutting in from right hand side and shoot with his left foot .he got a good left foot and so let him use it for serving Benteke in the box, this the best way to use our best striker and the sooner BFS tells him that, the better.
Agreed

It doesn't appear to be working for him with us, may be best to move him on. Mind you that could apply to most of the team at the moment. An interesting observation. My feeling is that most of our players are underperforming for other reasons than their actual ability. Name your player: Dann, Ward, Punch, Benteke, Ledley... Seen them all play much better than of late. Not saying we shouldn't move him on - but he has proven that in the right frame of mind he can be a star. We need a Russell Crow Gladiator thrown into this team to lift them all to their true potential. I hope we buy a 10-15m pound boss midfielder from overseas.

Agreed, but until we find this type of character, would John Terry do on a short term loan deal?

Pardew also managed to get Dann in a position where he was being touted for the Euros. The same Pardew who had the team grinding out results and clean sheets and getting to a FA Cup final. To say he turned him into a mess doesn't quite add up. I will agree the tactics of playing it up to Bentekes head did not work and we should have nipped that in the bud early on. He has a unique ability for such a big lad for the ball not to stick when it is played into the air. The change in giving it to feet is massive.
