We need a couple of wins and I think we'll see a completely different team. How we get those wins is another matter though seeing as we haven't managed to beat anyone except a half asleep Southampton. These players aren't suddenly terrible but I think the terrible year we've had has sapped all of their confidence. We desperately need someone to come in and give us a lift on the pitch, whether it's Remy (who looks keen) or whether it's a new player. West Ham won today in large part because of Carroll who was immense. As an opposing fan you hate him but aside from scoring a wonder goal he was back defending, winning balls in midfield and generally dragging his team along. Currently we seem to lack someone who has the confidence or ability to do that. Personally I would try and ship out Townsend as something is not right there and try and bring in someone else. I still believe with service Bentenke will come good and I also think he could work well with Remy. Sunderland were much worse than us last season when Sam came in so I'm not giving up yet. Thing is they appointed him in October after they had only played 8 league games, that said, he couldn't sign anyone until January. Sunderland lost 8 of their first 11 games under Allardyce and we cannot afford the same in our predicament at this point of the season.

didnt expect us to get anything from today and so it turned out, dont think we are a joke just yet, at the start of the season thought having the likes of benteke, townsend & cabaye all internationals would get us to another level but for some reason it hasnt, will still support this lot regardless of what league we are in...sadly

I understand why you may think a player is past their best and Jedinak was common to making mistakes with passing etc but he was a glue that kept the team as a group and rallied us when needed. Gayle was a player that yes maybe was not a starter in the Premiership but made a difference when coming on as he ran behind the defense and gave up options. People say we have not had the luck this season, but you make your own luck and if your not willing to put 100% effort in to a game then you deserve everything you get. People like Townsend and Benteke just saw it as another pay day. We can see from Townsend performances that he is useless. How do we see this but no manager that buys him. Players should not be judged on what they do in training but what they do on the pitch at game time. West Ham knew he was going to cut back so as soon as he did they had a player just standing there. Either play on the left side and cross early balls in (if Benteke actually gets in the box) and support for the knock down. I would sack the entire lot of them if I had a chance. not care what so ever for the fans or the position we are in. Another 5 months of what we had to watch for the last 12.

I might be totally wrong but I am under the impression that there are certain players who really don't want to be at the club and their mindset is reflected in their performances. It's all very well for pundits to say that we are too good to go down with the players we have - they have to understand that these players are NOT performing and will never perform to the level we require. I just think that Allardyce now realises that he has a much bigger challenge than he anticipated.Perhaps he regrets coming in the first place. Edited by Willo (14 Jan 2017 6.57pm)

What players may that be Willo? If you mean the new recruits, why did they come in the first place certainly not for the money and surroundings. SE19 is hardly paradise.

Sounds stupid but we just need a win. The fact that we're still not in the relegation zone after how shocking we've been this season shows how bad those teams below us are. If we just win a bloody game the players, manager, supporters, everyone will start feeling better and it will breed confidence.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

Perfect!!!!! This is Pardew's legacy. 12 moths of diabolical football and shocking decisions by him and this is the outcome. Truth is with the squad that has been assembled it should never have come to this.
