Hull have now sold two of their best players in a space of a week. Livermore and snodgrass gone. As much as its positive reading for all palace fans in terms of a relegation rival being weaker but i do feel sorry for their fans, owner wants out and looking like championship to come. These are the same fans that kicked up such a stink when the owner wanted to change the name to Hull Tigers resulting in him to lose interest in the club so perhaps the fans are partly to blame for their current plight

Imagine fans not wanting someone to change the name of the club they support?

Yeah wouldn't it be great if some aussie billionaire bought our club and then changed our name to Crystal Palace Koala bears! How anyone can slate hull's fans for not wanting their clubs name changed by somebody who hadn't heard about them 2 years before is beyond me.

Burnley have had a bid of 10 million accepted by Hull. A couple of million extra if he wins an Oscar.

The billionaire that rescued them from certain liquidation pumped millions into the club not only to save it but also to fund a climb to the Premiership and I'm pretty sure that if Steve Parish offered to save our club six years ago on condition that the name was changed to Crystal Palace Eagles we would be begging him to do it.

I am not so sure, if you don't have your identity you have nothing. I would be happier starting in the County Leagues and work back up again than humiliating the club and making it sound like a speedway team.

The "Billionaire", although foreign has lived in the area for many, many years. In terms of the name change, the club are still referred to as 'Hull' just like the 'Sports Direct' stadium was still referred to as 'St James' Park' by Newcastle supporters and perhaps many others. If we became 'Crystal Palace Glaziers' I suspect we would still be 'Crystal Palace' or 'Palace'.

I had presumed Snodgrass was off to West Ham considering what's next door. [link removed on request] Edited by Guntrisoft (05 Sep 2018 9.40am)

Speak for yourself. There's more to identity than merely the name or are you suggesting that all women lose their identities when they get married and assume a different surname?

Name change aside, the man you describe has given Hull (as a city) a lot of money including the Hospital and 31 million to Hull KR and lived there for years. You can argue the merits of him changing the name, or his stewardship of the club but he wasn't a johnny come lately out to make a quick buck at the expense of locals.
