Originally posted by OhthisbloodyPC But, boy, what a talent. I remember Don Rogers (saw hi score in an away game at Notts Forest) and Wilf makes him look like a white man from the 1970s.

Your (vaguely racist) comparison is unfair, imo.

Notwithstanding his exceptional close skills, Wilf's kicking is imperfect.

Rogers had everything.

wilf is the most exciting player ive ever seen at palace.

a picture tells a thousand words tho, and when wilf ran towards the manager last night and realised it was BFCS and not pards he swerved & ignored him.

shows what the players think about our c***y new manager.

This. It makes no sense at all to sell before the summer.

The problem with a lot of fans (ours in particular) is that they think their players are better than they are. Zaha is a case in point. Yes, he scored a wonder goal yesterday, but other than a couple of wasted crosses and a couple of fouls on him, he was invisible for most of the game against the bottom side in the division. And that's why he hasn't been called up for England. Now he's gone off to Africa in a huff and leaves us short of payers for a month or so. Yes. he's improved this season, but he still needs to improve his decision-making. Perhaps a bigger club would suit him, but it could be another Man Utd for him.

Complete bollocks IMO.

Perhaps if he'd been more consistent, played with a bit more intelligence re deciding when to cross / shoot, not fallen over quite so easily, not spent half the game arguing with officials, he'd have been picked by England and this wouldn't be an issue. By choosing to change to the IC he's putting his career ahead of the club who have given him that career.

Even more bollocks IMO.

We generally go on about how good players are, after we have sold them, we said they were rubbish when they played for us.
Zaha has talent no doubt, but not the application. I don't think he has ever had a good game against one of the top teams, they deal with him easily. they put in a couple of early fouls, wind him up, then job done.
Not the finished article yet. That's why he wont go for big money, not as good as Bolasie was.

He has one of the highest assist rates in the league plus some goals in a massively under performing team. Imagine what he could do in a team where he is not the only real outlet on the pitch. Most teams have realised that if they can block Zaha out of the game then we are pretty flat.

No, he is not world class, but he is bloody good and I really don't understand anyone who questions his ability - how long have you actually been watching Palace? I was really unhappy to lose Bolasie. I'd be devastated to lose Wilf. Not since Ian Wright left have I wanted a player to stay as much as Wilf.

Screw the clueless pundits who berate him. He's one of our own. He's one of our own. Wilf Zaha, he's one of our own
