Judge Ward playing at RB.
Kelly is doing his best - it just ain't good enough sadly.
You can't say he doesn't try - he works his socks off.
Townsend - hmm - do not get me started!

This 100%, ward has lost all confidence. Kelly you can't fault his effort but he's not up to it but a ok backup, when he's had to fill in for the odd game he's been ok but now teams target him.

Townsend has been pony, what is most frustrating is I believe he has the ability to do well but just doesn't seem bothered, work rate is poor and his execution of shots and cross in general has been very poor. I don't mind player who maybe aren't quite up to it but work hard such as Jerome and Kelly but cannot stand those who don't care such as Townsend currently, would love for him to prove me wrong though as it would be good for the team!

I don't see how you can blame Townsend yesterday he gave 100 percent playing both as winger and full back.

Now Benteke yesterday was a total waste of space, didn't seem to give a monkeys. He had no interest in playing at all.

I continue to be amazed by the shock and disappointment on here at the performances of 'dros.

He is performing exactly as he has done throughout his career.

In short we are getting what we paid for.

Parish must be thrilled.

I'm worried that BFS will not be able to grind out the points we need with this lot. They are on a downward spiral and are not going to get back to the standard required for this league.

Its going to be a real struggle to stay in the PL. But we cant replace half the team in this transfer window and obviously the LB slot is the priority. If Benteke gets injured, wer'e .....d But BFS has ground out points with other teams and I dont see why he cant for us

Fell apart when Jedinak went. The heart of the team was torn out. He was heartbroken. His wife was livid. They'd spent a fortune doing up their house. He told us he wanted to stay for good. That's how AP repaid his loyalty

So true, we are lacking leadership on the pitch. Some seem to forget the tackling and interceptions he made which were invaluable. And he could take a penalty and score, unlike some! Dann's form has dipped remarkably. Perhaps it's the "extra responsibilities" of captaining the side. Maybe even hand the armband to MacArthur. It will take time for SA to instill some spine into this outfit (particularly the defense) but I guess he's the man to do it. I do think both our fullbacks need upgrading, Ward and Kelly have tried but don't seem to be up to it at this level. We seriously need to get back to basics, our skill level is atrocious. We basically panic when we have the ball, particularly against decent opposition. I'd keep Townsend, he's much better than he's shown lately but he too needs to step up in effort.

Ward gets a raw deal from some on here. He's no left back, and the defence looks so unbalanced when he has to play there. And although Zaha's defensive work has improved, Ward hasn't had the best of assistance in that area over the last couple of years, when playing on the right.

The squad is littered with poor signings....Fryers, Mutch, Campbell being the prime examples. Kelly in my opinion has been a good squad member, but he's not worth a regular starting place if we had Ward available at right back.

Pardew moved on some strong personalities when he sold Jedi ( in particular ) and Murray. And then failed to adequately replace them.

I applauded the signings of Townsend and Benteke but I've been disappointed with both of them. Townsend I would sell asap - he doesn't want to play on the left and he certainly doesn't merit selection ahead of Zaha on the right. Why did we sign him in those circumstances ?

Benteke looks a threat in the air ( and should have scored yesterday ), but his hold up play is poor and his work rate questionable. He doesn't strike me as someone you would want ' in the trenches ' alongside you.
On a positive note, Sam Allardyce will not see things through the same rose tinted view that Pardew had. He will get to the root of problems and sort them out.

Exactly what I have said to other palace fans. H just does not chase a ball but gives up after four or five steps. He just stands at the front waiting for someone to give him the ball even when play is down the other end of the field. I can understand why Liverpool got shot of him and marvel how SP and AP got ripped off for £30m. Liverpool came out the winner on that one in my opinion. Yesterday he hardly worked up a sweat I am afraid and do really think he was a very bad expensive buy....Liverpool saw us coming and have the last laugh!!

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Jedi had not contributed much for ages in my view - since he came back from the Asia Cup we had played better without him. He is doing OK at Villa, which is his level. We have enough good midfielders - it is defence where we are woefully short of numbers and quality.

Agree with this largely, Flamini may prove to be a good replacement for Jedinak with his experience, but we needed that influence four months ago.

The other problem is that Delaney is clearly the vocal leader at the back, but is a liability defensively.

Ward is solid, provided everyone else in the back four is up to scratch.

Benteke gets flack for his work rate, but at the same time he has created opportunities out of nothing and scored goals. The fact that he doesn't run as much as Cameron Jerome to me shouldn't be a negative, it should instead suggest that we are desperate for someone to get closer to him. He's a more talented player so lets not lump it long and expect him to chase. Let's use his skills.

We need a number 10. The amount of times he brings the ball down on his chest and there's no one within 30 yards is very frustrating.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Biggest single mistake was allowing Pardew to pick players to come in.

Pardew is on the record as saying even a £50m spend by CPFC on Benteke would be a "no brainer."

Couldn't put it better myself.

Loads of new posters on the Hol,I do wonder if you actually go to matches or just come on here to always slag the team off, quite honestly what the fcuk do you expect, we are currently in a spot of bother and all you can do is run the team down ..what you don't realise is that the likes of the top 6 teams are light years ahead of us in spending power and so it's difficult to compete in most positions on the pitch..get real folks you obviously want us to be in that league overnight which we are not going to be at this moment in time.
We have the players that we have whether you like it or not, instead of bl*ody whinging all the time support the team, guess you will be there tomorrow night or maybe not.

Harsh on Ward, he's improved lately though could do with competition (Trippier anyone?)

Kelly is utter s*** though, a new LB can't come soon enough. Beaten easily pretty much every week and poor on the ball

Andros is disappointing so far but showed what he can do against Watford. Needs to perform consistently though and not sulk when put on the left - remember Wilf's done bits on the right so there's no reason for him to not be there
