It's a curious thing about all the high profile artistes who've died this year - although they may not have appealed to everyone, even those who didn't particularly like their stuff would find it hard to come up with anything negative to say about them. You may not have been a fan but at least there was a degree of respect for their achievements and their overall contribution. There are many performers (naming no names) whom The Grim Reaper could have chosen this year who have instead doggedly remained on the planet and whose demise would be almost welcomed but no, those who've gone have been true high-calibre names. I'm actually really depressed about everything this morning. ..because of the intimacy of computer technology, this will only get worse, we are at the situation where stars are falling through bad diets, habits and nasty illnesses and as each day passes more and more new ones are being made and born to entertain us until they too die in the intimacy of our growing technology through diets, habits and nasty illnesses. Everyone dies of a heart attack and one day we will know all about them before during and after.

Immune system etc weakens and we know how much celebrities suffer depression. Too much time, devil playing with idol hands, living in a goldfish bowl, the stress of 'is it all over now or do I have another album/film/series left in me.' Takes its toll more than people think. Wears the body down. Best way to beat that is having lots to do or hitting the gym, nearly everyday, rather than going stir crazy or hitting the sauce, white powder or weed.' Brain might be depressed but the body won't know from the positive effects of aerobic exercise.

Depends if you can physically get up and exercise when depressed. 10 years ago I was depressed and it very nearly killed me. At the worst I couldn't get out of bed or wash let alone go to a gym. In my recovery in hospital it was his album patience which was brought into me and I listened to it a lot over that summer in 2006

Even existing is a struggle let alone going to a gym. Although we know that is what is good for us, the mind cripples us.

Heal The Pain This song is fan-fcuking-tastic. The bloke was a genius........ What a year for celebrity deaths... all I can think is that The Grim Reaper is planning a 2016/17 Hootenanny to blow away Jools Holland's? RIP George

George Michael was a tosser . If you think hiding in bushes on Hampstead Heath offering casual sex to passing strangers , loitering in toilets in North London or even w***ing in full view of anyone ,children included, entering public bogs in Hollywood is acceptable then so be it. Being a very good singer was his cover ,anyone else would have been on the sex offenders register having spent time in nick .

Those who shout the loudest about being offended by it are, quite clearly, the most likely to be latent homosexuals themselves. Did you know that? Live and let live. Not everyone can live by your obvious totally clean-record moral code of never doing anything a bit naughty. Ever.

Really upsetting news, clearly a very troubled soul with a beautiful voice. This is probably my favourite one of his, A Different Corner...
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |
