I was wrong about Allardyce and his ability to save us from the drop. I don't think Pardew would have relegated us but I do think that Allardyce has got these players playing his system very effectively. I just couldn't see us beating Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in the run in. I'm eating my humble pie and I'm a happy man.

Bearing in mind we have got more points in the last 8 games then we did in the first 22 of the season. We have beat 3 massive teams and are still not mathematically safe.

Pardew's record shows that his teams tend to have periods of very good and poor sequences. We were due a good one and Pardew has never been relegated and never had us in the bottom three at any stage here. I was losing faith but I was never anti Pardew. That said I was anti Allardyce so I address that error here.

Had the second half of last season and the first half of this one been a single season we would have been relegated and threatened Derby's record points low. That was what Pardew's time really meant and we did well to get rid.
Cynic or realist? It's a fine line! |

i expect Pardew could successfully manage an erection, but apart from that i couldn't promise you much success.
