Retrospective action wont help us but I can't imagine many players diving if they thought that they were going to be banned, or managers putting up with it. A one match ban for the first offence, 3 match for the second, 5 for the third etc. The only down side is that refs may become reluctant to book divers feeling that it isn't up to them.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

I just keep wondering what part of "riding a tackle" involves throwing yourself to the floor? I thought riding was intended to keep you upright

Unless, that is, he is Mark Clattenburg.

According to the laws of the game contact doesnt have to be made for a foul to be committed, (willo help please),but Snodgrass (red card just for the stupid name) is a cheating cnut.

I don't think that's viable, and the extra game is a massive burden on the aggrieved side. Something like video tech would be more viable than a rematch. The player, and the club involved need to take a 'real hit' to rule out this kind of thing. ..no pain no gain.

This problem has tarnished football for many years and the Snodgrass case is an opportunity for the FA to stamp it out. All the proposed changes made by others here and myself have some problems attached but I would go with 3 points deduction otherwise it will just be kicked into the long grass yet again.

There are some on here being rather precious about this. Or maybe it's some unusual form of indignant amnesia. We have had and still have players at he club who go down at he slightest contact or even none at all. The problem is that the game as a whole needsto stop this. Personally I would not chalk off the goal as so often other things have happened before/after the vent. But I would ban divers and maybe stop them taking penalties for the rest of the season.
