Not digging him out. I think the guy is fantastic and I'm a big fan. Just saying that he seems to be a different player to what we saw at Villa.

One of only two players that if out for a few games would certainly be missed Quality striker who would certainly be seen to better effect if played with two up top maybe somebody similar to the lad who's banging them in at Newcastle

He is as important to us as Wilf and is the 5th highest scorer in the Prem this season in a sub standard team.
He can move how he wants.
Class as far as I am concerned!

It's pardew fault he's only scored 8 goals , he should be on atleast 20 by now, pardew out!!

Yes, let's slam the guy who is scoring 0.62 goals a game (much higher than his 0.47 per game a Villa).
For a team whose top goal scorer last season WITH FIVE, was a Centre back.

Hmmm. Let's think about, if we had spent our money on some other big gun, we could have bought:

Granit Xhaka for £35m (one goal) or,
Shkodran Mustafi £35m (no goals) or,
Batshuayi £33m (one goal) or,
Islam Slimani £30m (four goals) or,
Leroy Sané £37m (no goals) or,
Henrikh Mkhitaryan £26m (one goal) or,
Georginio Wijnaldum £25m (one goal).

Benteke has as many goals this season as all of these elite players that cost £221m.

But his movement looks like it could be better.

Unbelievable.

You're right you know, his scoring this season has produced a good return. Therefore as you say there's no need for the management to try and improve his game and movement as he's getting everything so spot on, the defending duties he was given included. You're not Super duper Al are you? Would explain how we've gone from a hard working team to an unfit, unfocused spineless bunch with a soft under belly.

Actually Christian, you take 2 weeks off as a reward.

The only advantage of him not putting himself about a bit more is less chance of getting injuries. We're screwed with only Campbell as back up.

Considering he is taking 3.1 shots per game in the penalty area (joint 3rd most in the league), I would say his movement is pretty damn good.

He may look a but lethargic at times, but he is usually in the right place at the right times, which is why he gets so many shots away.

Not sure why people are saying he's not as good as he was at Villa, he's shooting and scoring more frequently than he was then. I suppose we now see the whole game and when at Villa people generally only see the highlights - probably has something to do with it.

We have much bigger problems - just thankful he is at Palace!

If he was in the West Brom side they'd be above Man U. Pulis is a tw*t but at least he knows how to drill and set up a team. Best we had with him was Cam Jam who, while hard working, was a terrible finisher most of the time and not that good in the air.

Benteke is not the problem. He and Zaha are the only reason we're not bottom. The problem is a complete lack of organisation. It looks to me like Pardew is too lazy to work on defensive drills and work on the dull side of the game - repetition of those drills so players know instinctively what to do in match situations when defending.

He was scoring goals last season. The cr&p summer etc etc etc and also his poor form mean it's an issue now. There's also no competition and no width and inside out wide midfielders who aren't wingers with Zaha next to him who isn't a forward or going to link up play. You're right now to an extent but you weren't back then. Frank started this dire form of Benteke's expecting players unsuited to his vanity project to deliver.

I agree his movement towards a ball on the penalty spot needs sharpening up.

Snail-like.

He'd be better off trying to head a spot-kick.

He wasn't overrated then.
