I've been firmly behind chunky since he was appointed. But now I'm personally giving him the next three games to prove he's not a broken record. No excuses for not getting a point today. Consistent mistakes aren't by accident.

We were debating with others who could step into the fold after the game, should the worst (or best for some of you) happen. Klinsman. No. Tactics Tim. No. Freedman. No.

Allardyce?

Too risky, if he implodes with the media then his position would become untenable again. I don't think the owners would risk this scenario.

he could always put an injunction gagging-order on the media. You never thought this could happen at our club ?

We need someone akin to Pulis. Comes in, cleans up our defense and makes us hard to break down, then - when he will difer from pulis, with our attacking threat, know how to utilize it to achieve the best results.

Bruce would have been perfect but that boat sailed.

Fat Sam is no different to pulis and is such a character it would distract from our club. We need an incognito manager, tired of the holloways, dowies' and pardews getting coverage for non result reasons.

Gary Monk wasn't too and at all, but, interesting why he isn't in work now.

I honestly wanted to see Freedman at Celtic to see how he faired.

..say goodbye to Zaha, Puncheon, Cabaye, McArthur, Souare and Ward.

..you actually think the owners have actually taken one seconds thought of actually having this thing called Allardyce.

I personally couldn't give a sh1t about the image of Fat Sam coming back into management. This is still football, not the Green Party MP of Brighton candidacy. Did the Man City players care of the embarrassment when the paramedics came on and then the stretchers, limping off only to sprint back and into the action when the lino allowed. Football is unscrupulous, all about money and greed.

All we will care about is being in the top division. Just have Sam's contract clearly define what he cannot do and we'll stay up. Delay it and he'll go somewhere else and down we might go.

Except you're ignoring the fact that we don't even know if he is in the clear yet

Agreed.

If people think he would be better, they should look at his actual record. His teams average 1.38 goals against per game. A worse record than Pardew! His teams don't score as often either.

A real step up.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

I'm not sure either way. Have trust in the owners , they haven't made many f**k ups in 6 years.

Burley was bad... then Freedman didn't wanna stay. Holloway and the transfer window was an embaressment. Then Pulis then walked out, Warnock steadying the ship, the whole texting issue, then to AP's record. Then some dodgy signings that gambled and back fired. Whilst they haven't had any high profile f**k ups' it hasn't really been stable, we can look at each individual cases and see common dominators which is kinda suggests its not that smooth, which is what we desperately need.
It just seems instead of playing it safe they like a gamble, fair play, it's their money.

With Fat Sam, the first club he joins will have eyes on him, just look at Malky, he tried to get employment and boom, Tan opened up an old wound. That's not the stability we need.

Honestly, i still feel Steve Bruce was the one we should have gone for.

And going back to Dougie, it's like Howe at Bournemouth - some clubs suit some managers and ofcourse its hindsight, but freedman looked as if it was all coming together - which kind a makes you wonder why he left - but i do feel he has got it in him to manage at a decent level.
