I don't think the board are as trigger happy as some think or would like. Yes the results have been shocking. Especially at home, with last weeks debacle doubling the agony as we conspired to lose the game twice. harris and blitzer perfectly happy with a team at the bottom. both can't manage a sports club to save their lives.

I don't see Pardew as "Hanging on by a thread".

5 league defeats on the trot is pretty dire, but not world ending. If that run goes to 8 or 9 games then I'd absolutely expect the board to take a long hard look at it. But too many clubs take the gamble and it fails. Swansea sacked Gary Monk last season, which improved their form only marginally, and did it again this season, which has backfired spectacularly. As always- the aim has to be to get to 40+ points, and secure Premier League football ASAP. Pardew, as an absolute minimum, should be able to do that (and probably will). That buys us another summer of squad transition. Am I happy with how vulnerable we look defensively in recent weeks? Heck no. Pardew is gambling on outscoring opposition, which isn't working- yet. But trips to Swansea and Hull look very winnable- 6 points from the next 3 and things suddenly look a lot rosier.

I think the reason AP is still here is we're constantly being teased with how good we could be. Yes we keep losing, but losing after bossing man city around until the equaliser shows we can be a great team. If we were consistently crap & losing i doubt he'd be here. The dilemma is we're consistently great and crap, like teasing the board that he might just pull off the greatest palace side ever.

Swansea must have got a boost from their draw yesterday at Everton and were ahead until minutes from the end. In their last Home game, Hull beat Southampton 2-1 which was an excellent result.
