Good point but remember our overall spend in the transfer window was £8 million after the sales of Yannick, Gayle and Jedi. However I have a lot of faith in the owners making the right decisions in terms of the management. Personally I can't see them acting until at least Xmas and then if we are only in the bottom 6. Like Warnock who went on Boxing Day their relationship with Pards or his history at this club will matter not one iota.

Never really been bothered about relegation. Since we were promoted I've been expecting it, after all supporting palace for 26 years it's the norm!
However this year is different, I worry about it because with the players and the wage bill I feel we may be in deep s*** if we go down. The past few summers we signed players that would bring us back up but this summer the players we have signed will be off. No way we will get 30 mill for Benteke if we go down we will be screwed over by mid table teams for our best players and finically screwed.
Pardew needs to sort it. Can't think of anyone else, Coleman failed as a club manager and Wales only win when Bale plays, Mancini doubt it.
Who was dougies defensive coach? Was it Popovic? Pardew needs to get him in.

I’m coming round more to the opinion now that we need a new manager. I was prepared to give AP more time because what this Club needs is stability. The last half of last season wasn’t acceptable and this new, more gung-ho style, simply isn’t working, even though it’s still early days. The team has forgotten how to defend and we aren’t clinical enough to win games 5-4, although we are creating enough chances. Only West Ham, Hull and Sunderland have let in more goals than Palace this season now. If Hull manage to beat Southampton today, we’ll be just one point off the bottom three.

I know there are no easy games in the Premier League, but if we want to become a top ten team we have to do better against sides in the bottom half and we can’t go into every game knowing we have to score at least twice to win. Having got nothing from the Burnley game and with the run of matches coming up for us and the teams below us, I’ll be majorly surprised if we aren’t starting 2017 in the relegation places and I honestly believe our players are better than that.

If a new manager was installed now he would have two weeks to work with the team before the next game. The first problem is that Palace would never be able to appoint anyone inside two weeks and then who would we want anyway that is available and has Premier League experience? Roberto Mancini (wouldn’t come here), Louis Van Gaal (wouldn’t come here and no thanks), Guus Hiddink (no), Roy Hodgson (no), Francesco Guidolin (no thanks), Tim Sherwood (no thanks) and Sam Allardyce (honestly?).

Mmm, is AP really that bad? Glad it’s not my decision to make. Perhaps we just need an experienced defensive coach, because we sure as heck need one.

With great regret I have to say that after today's performances and the comments made after, it is time for the club to look at someone else from Pardew. It's been a really enjoyable journey but after the amount of investment over the summer we can't justify the performances this season.

Getting to the FA cup final still sounds like a dream but we did it with Pardew. Something I'll never forget. When that goal went in, I thought we were about to be champions but hold no grudge that we couldn't cross the line.

This season started badly, we recovered but have now slump pedal even lower than we have done this year. It's been a bad 2016 and no matter what, our annual form won't look like we can stay in the league. It is time to move on and find someone who is the next step up from Al, even despite how much I had wanted him to take charge of us when Pulis and Co took over, we have reached our limit with him. He isn't a top half manager and that's what we need when we are spending over 50 mil during the summer.

Thanks for everything Alan, it's been our best period in our history. We now need to move forward.

..now if Burnley had your attitude they would have booted Sean Dyche long ago and squandered any hope of doing what they did yesterday, you lot are fine in your opinions but I feel we need to be patient with this team because Pardew has absolutely nothing to do with individual mistakes and the poor decisions by individuals, we are playing great football at times and unbelievably frustrating football at others and that is all it is, all the posters who want him out are going to be made to look very silly when we are sitting in the top half very soon.

Pardews time to go was straight after the FA Cup fina, it was only the cup run that kept him in a job.

I said we should of gone for Rafa while he was stalling on staying at Newcastle. If he said no, I'd of kept AP, but no harm in trying. My boys didn't agree, they were wrong.

Totally agree.
We now pay silly wages and already have a couple we can't shift because of it. If we go down, the s*** hits the fan. Like you I really ain't that fussed what league we are in, but I like to be in the same one as our rivals and if we go down it looks like we'll miss Brighton on the way up. I know not everyone else will agree, but as long as Palace and I exist, I'll be there.

..how many of these goals have been because of Mr Pardew then and how many misses have been the fault of him, I need to know why it is Mr Pardews fault that the players who are all very capable one minute and then are all not the next, we are a little bit like Everton aren't we at the moment and they have changed manager ...isn't the brilliant Ronald Koeman having great fun with individual mistakes and individual bad decisions, they should sack him right now!

Why? ..are we bottom and completely cut off.

Look at how the team are creating opportunities in every single game, silly individual mistakes can and will be sorted by the players themselves.

..everyone take a step back.

What a cretin - Take a long hard look at our league form
& performances in the last year. No threat of relegation ???
Take a long hard look sunshine.

As for fair weather, I too was at Stockport & Sheff Wed (as were a lot on here who simply think AP isn't good enough).

One expects a goalkeeper to save more points than he costs in mistakes.

One expects a striker to score at a reasonable strike rate.

One expects a manager to out think more than he is out thought !!!

Yes of course, once players walk out on to the sacred turf the manager cannot be responsible for poor finishing and individual errors. He can however coach the players to build effective attacks and also how to defend. If Palace had a tighter defence, then those wasted chances at the other end wouldn’t be so vital. They don’t have a bad conversion rate you know – 16 goals from 53 shots and they are 10th in that particular table. Arsenal with 23 goals from 54 shots are top. Everton, by the way, are 9th.

The problem is Palace cannot defend for toffee at the moment (Everton reference not intended) and that is down to tactics, which is down to the manager.

People seem to be ignoring the facts I posted yesterday-

A win today would have seen us hit just shy of 1.4 points per game average for the season. This is in keeping with Pardews record historically. Over the past 10 years average that would see us finish 8th in the table come may. Pull your knicker back up the lot of you.

So are we saying 55 points and a top half finish is unacceptable for little old crystal palace? I don't want a manager who may possibly get us an extra league position by playing dull, defensive football. I like being entertained and as frustrating as westham, leceister and Burnley were, those games without the disruptions to the back line could have all gone the other way and we'd be sat here wetting ourselves with glee on 20 points.

I really don't understand the hysteria, yes the calender record for 2016 is poor and he's got some things wrong (as do all managers) but imo it's the lack of strength in depth that's caused the poor results, not AP's tactics.

I hate what we've become by establishing ourselves in the pl, flirting with the bottom clubs may be just what we need in order to regress to a sense of perspective.
