Told my kids about how the carpet at the cartoon would stick to your feet and lift an inch with each step. They were both revolted and fascinated.

Apparently Croydon Police weren't even consulted about Box Park alcohol sales development given answer received from local coppers following arrest of two violent drunks who were intimidating x 3 females on East Croydon Rail concourse last Friday night. how are they anything to do with Boxpark? Plus, either the individual units or Boxpark as a collective would need an alcohol licence which would have been done through the council so thats horsedung.

Who has to deal with the miscreants who can't take their booze and then resort to intimidating others? my point was twofold; 1) How is the drunken state of people on the East Croydon Platforms anything to do with Boxpark, any more so than Wetherspoons or any other pubs in the local area? 2) To enable the premises to get an alcohol licence, they'd have had to go through fairly stringent checks with the local council licencing team, in that, the requirement for policing would have been checked. If the police haven't been informed (highly unlikely) then that's the councils issue , not Boxpark.

I once asked Stuart Wilder who owned the gaff why he bothered with carpet and he confirmed its sole purpose was to absorb spilt beer. The cartoon on a good night was an awesome place. Sunday nights watching the Drivers. Happy days!

The King's Cellars was also haunted, according to legend (i.e. the Croydon Advertiser) so maybe it did have a link with the original Crogdene (as it was known in Anglo Saxon times)
