This post has been merged from a topic called 'Clattenburg' by kenbarr Excellent news. Just did a mini fist pump at my desk when I read the headline and then even better - he's going straight away. Good riddance to bad rubbish. I'm pleased we will never have cause to lament his big time charlie attitude and consistently poor performances when officiating Palace games for at least a while.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Clattenburg' by kenbarr A gargantuan loss to the PL, losing a referee considered to be the very best in the world and an inspiration to many.I am deeply saddened to see him depart for 'Pastures new'. An exciting new venture for Mark and our loss is most certainly Saudi Arabia's gain.I of course wish Mark all the very very best as he embarks on another 'Chapter' of his illustrious career. The PL refereeing fraternity and the PL will be poorer for his absence. To avoid this turning into yet another wearisome WILLO thread with vitriol and bile being scattered liberally, I would like to inform one and all that this is my last post on this thread.

Theft is punishable by amputation of the right hand in Saudi Arabia. If the number of points he's stolen from us is anything to go by, he's in trouble... Excellent point! I don't want to wish him any ill will personally, but am still pleased to hear he won't be officiating in any more Palace matches again. Best news I've heard all day. Hmm, I wonder why he's going to Saudi Arabia...?
