I agree with Willo to an extent but Jagielka jumped straight up after the high boot. In my opinion it was pretty obvious there was no contact. If there had been it would of been obvious in Jagielkas reaction. It wasn't one of his better games from Moss. I felt he missed quite a bit for both sides and some of his yellow cards were baffling.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Moss had more touches of the ball then Townsend. I'd love to see his touch map, he was breaking up the play getting in the way all game, with him Reffing we won't miss Jedinak.

The old man was rubbish. Aside from the talkng points and getting in the way, nine yellows? Should be retired.

The rules state that if it's a high boot it should be an indirect free kick. I believe that is what he blew for?
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye! |

Which is why we must use technology to help the officials. It would have taken twenty seconds to refer that (far less time than the game was stopped for to set up the free kick) and the correct decision would have been made. We simply have to start to help referees using technology.

Moss made various bad calls including the free kick for their goal, but also looked hopelessly unfit, beibg either miles behind the play or in the players'way an awful lot. Finally of course he dished out a whole bookful of ridiculous cautions. He was s***e. Edited by chateauferret (01 Oct 2016 8.15am)

Well he's an even bigger disgrace then.I can even see how he might have missed the handball but if that rule is true then he should be f***ed off.Theres always controversy when he refs a game and how he's working in the premier league is beyond me.Was just saying last week that I thought the refs have been real good so far this season but that last night has let them down big time.Hes a joke.

Just seen the Jagielka freekick incident for the first time on replay. Just baffling that Moss did not penalise him for the handball.
The right place at the right time |

Having checked the FIFA rule book this is indeed correct. Dangerous play such as a high boot that does not make contact is an indirect free kick. Also can someone clear up what the Benteke yellow card was for?

IMO it was a free kick. The handball was because Jags was protecting his head, a perfectly reasonable thing to do. However to award a direct free kick was a massive rookie blunder and something he will have to be criticised for. The offside wasn't down to Moss and was a horrible decision by the lino. The ball had already gone over Jimmy Mac when he moved his head, but at least it showed up punditry for what it is....... bulls***. They didn't even correct themselves after spending 10 minutes on Jimmy Mac, to be told by AP the lino flagged Damo anyway.

Were you standing where Moss was standing? How do you know he didn't just get the rules wrong and forget it was meant to be an indirect free kick. Even if it was difficult he got it wrong. He was quite poor in general IMO. Sadly the quality of PL refereeing has been substandard for a while now and was again last night to our disadvantage.
