Whether I think he is a decent player or not, Jordan Mutch has to be up there for the worst buys. £5m for a player who has made so few appearances and with very few looking decent. Then McCarthy and Adebayor would be the competition. Given we got our money back for McCarthy and Adebayor was on a free (and with reduced wages), then I'd have to go with Mutch. Best is harder. Wilf I suppose officially was his (went permanent in the January window) I think? Given it's a bit unfair to judge players positively or negatively after a couple of games, I think the only other ones really are Souare, Wickham, and CYL. Given one of those has only recently returned to the team and the other has had a very poor injury record last year, I think it would have to be Souare.

I still think from this window the capture of Townsend has the potential to be one of the best signings under Pardew. I also agree with the re-capture of Wilf.

Let's hope so. But Sako looked pretty good after a couple of games I have to admit to saying to a friend after those first couple of appearances by Sako that we might have got the deal of the season

I guess when you consider outlay and what he's actually done for us in quite a long period of time. it has to be mutch. admittedly I can understand why he purchased him. at Cardiff he was great. but ever since has been piss poor. and I can't blame pardew because for 5 mill he did look like he had potential to be class. Well before Pards we were no where near close to signing players like, Mandanda, Flamini, Cayabe, Townsend, Benteke and now it's common place.... I'm not saying it's all down to Pardew but let's be fair he should get at least some credit for some of these deals. The club clearly has a better attraction to it since his arrival. True to say we may have done so without him, but also true to say this has happened under his watch. So for me the best buys far far out weigh the bad buys.

Andy Johnson wasn't much of a success... one 2nd half appearance was all he could muster before moving on to Luton? I wasn't there to see it, so I can't tell you how he played.

Didn't Warnock resign Wilf? I daresay none of the managers were massively involved actually, I think it was driven by Parish, but it might have been Warnock heading up the team at that point now I think about it. I'd look it up but I can't be bothered!
