The problem is the money in the premiership. Every year we remain, the stronger our squad can get. Therefore we can have a better chance of a cup run next season.

I'd be ecstatic if we won a cup but still want us to use a few back up players in the cups. We are very thin at the back in particular. Fryers has to play in my opinion.

I come to the conclusion that it's important that we rest key players dann, benteke, mcarthur and zaha . Other than that maybe we should play as strong as we can.

Preemptive. Anyone with a modicum knows that there are two sides to resting. If you want players to go the whole season when we're suffering from injuries then you would rest those who haven't been match fit. Like you said you play a strong side and those coming back from injury aren't strong, are they?

Priority? Perhaps not at this stage of the season but neither should we be willing to just throw a decent opportunity of success away.

We are just starting to look like a team that are beginning to click, the way we will improve is for those players to keep playing with each other.

Rest anyone who has a slight knock but otherwise play a full strength team for me.

Pardew suggested in his press conference that he will look at his whole squad this week. With 3 games in less than a week.

Southampton is a PL club playing in Europe. There would be no shame in underestimating a Championship side, but against a PL side (with Europe commitments, Palace needs to go for the win. Agree that a winning slightly weaker Palace Team would give a message that our squad can do the business - a good foundation for matches later in the season.

Selection could depend on us getting a good result against stoke. Wouldn't risk dann though or benteke.

Just watched the Channel 5 FL highlights. I don't want to go back any time soon. It's crap. No coverage and s*** football with poor players.
