Watching the game yesterday it was ridiculous! That's the championship for you. The quality was crap. He had about 20 chances and fluffed most of them. First was a tap in, second was a good finish after a hoof up field, third was another hoof and it was a scrappy finish that went under the keeper after he fortuitously bumped it off the defenders legs. Yeah he scored a hat trick, but based on yesterday's match, the 10 million we got for him still seems like we did the better business.

He has to be worth a few quid as top Championship scorer? Mind you given his form so far I imagine that his odds will have dropped somewhat.

Yes hundred quid is a lot of money but I was that sure (as long as he stays fit) that he will score shed loads in that league, especially if he has players like Ritchie and Anita around him.

I don't think Newcastle would need to recoup their expenditure and I can't imagine that Gayle would rush to get away to Boro, Burnley or Hull.
