A simple .... yes! He's worth the punt and young enough to hopefully overcome his injuries. He might just play make enough cameo appearances to give us that much needed creative edge in games. I would rather have that option than have no one ... like we currently do! You would hope after 3 seasons in the Prem that we wouldn't have to rely on long punts such as injury ridden / troubled starlets but alas we do. Maybe just maybe this could be one that works out for us ... we're certainly due one!

He's a good player when fit definitely but that's pretty rare and I'm not convinced he's worth the risk unless it's on a pay-as-you-play deal, which Arsenal probably won't agree to. I wouldn't want him coming in on a higher wage than our other midfielders, not playing, and then the press catching him out on the piss with his mates.

Sky Sports transfer centre now saying we are interested. Did this forum start the rumour?

Currently favourites to sign Wilshere, however, based on the odds, all seems rather speculative. Probably based on the fact that we are interested (mad not to be) and he may prefer to stay in London.

The SLP and the added are actually jokes, the amount of time they steal suggestions off here or copy what someone has said. Now they have these click bait adds on their websites. Most of their stuff is written by fans it's not a real paper anymore.

In a 442 formation, ball retention is important and JW would improve our possession of the ball. It also might give cabaye the kick up the bum needed.

I think with a signing like this we need to look at risk v reward. We are signing a player who, when fit and on his game, is a cut above anyone else we have at this football club in midfield. He now also has a point to prove and is arguably playing to save his Arsenal and England career. If Arsenal subsidise his wages a bit, we are getting a potentially world-class (if not, top-4 premier league) signing for a couple of million for the season in wages, to fill a position we desperately need (CAM / Creative Midfielder). Hell, we could even use him as an impact sub to protect him from injury, he'd be a a bloody good option to come off the bench at 1-0 down searching for a goal in the last 25 minutes of a game. For me, if there's any possibility we can sign him, this is a no brainer. Sign him up!

I can't see how some would oppose this move? When fit and playing, he's one of the best midfielders in the premier league. The only issue I see is wages, if we pay a high percentage for a very injury prone player. Potentially having Jimmy, Yohan and JW fighting it out in the midfield is magical.
