if he passes his medical, I have no reason in why we should NOT sign him. He's a good player, but I dont want him to be our main striker. Pards & Parish said they would bring two strikers in, so hopefully we still nail benteke and get Caroll as well. Along with Wickham i would be very happy with this, even though its all been left far far to late.

We could sign Aguero and it wouldn't make any difference until Pardew elects to change the tactics to include some crosses and fines Delaney for every ridiculous long ball (unless, of course, he's doing exactly as Pardew wants, in which case I'll go away and mutter quietly to myself in despair). Tall, short, fat, thin, old, young - these days it doesn't seem to matter what our strikers are like as we don't give them the ball.

Too true. Ideally we need a striker who is guaranteed to score the one chance he will get every other game.

This is the crux of the matter, I said on another thread, even if we had Benteke we still would've lost to WBA, doesn't matter who you are, if you haven't got the ball you can't score.

Absolutely right.
And you have to commit more men to the box when we are attacking.Have to be far 'Braver' and take more risks.
New players alone will not solve problems - it is overall team tactics and organisation.

How many more injury prone strikers do we need? We could only get 10-15 games out of the two of them.

Let's keep the ball this season!

I've gone onto a couple of West Ham blogs and the main thing they say is 'When he's fit' and 'on his day he's unplayable'.
Don't know about you lot but I haven't seen a decent Andy Carroll in about 6 years, so not for me. I'd take failed medical Sakho before I take that.

No thanks,Carrol is an injury waiting to happen.

HOL:

"We need a striker"

"Nah, he's sh*t" "Nah he's injury prone" "Nah, wages too high"

Well, what are we going to attract?

A decent, fit, not too greedy one perhaps?
