I can still remember the newspaper headline "Ernies Whallies"

But Alan Mullary must be the worst management appointment in the history of football

In terms of ratios he wouldn't be the worst, but in terms of the worst football I have seen at Palace, it has to be Alan Smith.

I would not have let him near the ground again, let alone manage the team for a second time.

Who else got us relegated in consecutive years

Very true. I believe but for the 1975-76 cup run his standing would be greatly diminished and sit where it deserves to be ( fairly low )

Only one contender: Alan Mullery, a total Palace hater who slagged us off during the FA cup reply against Brighton at Stamford Bridge and then next season became our manager. Hated fans, the club and came for the money. Might have been in the 70s but long memory still remains.

He didn't become our manager the year after this, it was about 6 or 7 years later,,,,,,just saying

Malcolm Allison, back to back relegations and the c*** changed our Claret and Blue to the nasty Red and Blue tripe we wear now.

Dick Graham - sold the best goalkeeper we had at the time, Bill Glazier, for a record fee. Not only sold him but sold him to Coventry who we were battling for promotion with.

Mullery top of worst ever list for me closely followed by that whinger Francis. We've also had some more recent managers I was glad to see go. Colin for one. Never bought into his 'love' for CPFC. His only love was Colin himself. Then there was Holloway. He was embarrassing and like Colin way out of his depth. And we mustn't forget Mr 'park the bus' Pulis. Arrogant, sounded like a donkey and played tedious football. He didn't save us from relegation, the players and the fans did.

If it wasn't for pulis we would not be in the prem now. What an arrogant thing to say from yourself.

He actually has one of the best managers we have had in terms of win percentages.

For managers that have had more than one season with CPFC Post war he has the best win rate of any manager we have had.
