Come on how can you say Defoe is not good he's always scored. As for Johnson he was playing well when they signed him. Yes he's not so great now but. And I'm sorry Evans is a good prem CB and fletcher is solid.

Defoe or wickham hmmmmm
Evans or hangeland hmmmm

Hangelannd by a mile...much much better

Oh here we go again. I usually keep well away from this but I am going to voice my opinion this time as some of these comments are ridiculous. We have a little spell where we are not over achieving and pushing on to get top 4 and all of a sudden we only buy 'from the scrap pile' and 'never attract quality players'. Really? Knee Jerk comments in abundance. Quit your jibber jabber springs to mind. It was only at the start of the season we were being commended for buying the right players and moving forward. Also, we are in a strong position unlike say Newcastle for example. They have to buy to try and avoid relegation... We don't. Therefore if the right player comes along be sure that Parish will pay the right money to bring them in. But let's not just buy for the sake of it. It would be better to save the cash to buy in the summer for the right player. It's not fantasy football. The owner isn't going to buy players just to appease knee jerk ignorant and stupid fans who think that brings success when in fact it will give us a squad of rejects again.

As long as the people we buy are better than those already in place, we are moving in the right direction and for that, I'm afraid, we have to bow to the people in the club who know far more than we do about who's available and how much they would cost.

For the first time in years, I actually trust those at the helm to do what's in the best interests of the club, and be a bit more shrewd about transfer deals. When the player is 'worth it' they are happy to splash the cash on transfers and wages (Cabaye), but when more run-of-the-mill players come to the market with a ridiculous price tag or wage demands, the interest seems to disappear pretty quickly.

If we are actually struggling to attract players, a lot of that could be down to us not historically being a 'big' club, and having a limited number of big names already here (I'm sure Cabaye is a pull, and that effect will get greater as and when more big names come in).

I'm not worried yet.

as everyone knows, it's all about the money. CP's wages are closer to championship level than even #10 in the PL. if yo can recruit good players to go to sunderland, stoke, or bournemouth, you can certainly get them to croydon...if you're willing to pay.

Sash has already kinda said it.

For what Austin is reportedly on, for instance, I understand why we'd give him the swerve. Likewise any one else we are looking at, there has to be an element of value, and weighing up the pros and cons, the rewards and risks.

Let's be honest, apart from the odd Marange, we've done bloody well in the last five years. As always, I'll defer to Mr. Parish's judgement when it comes to what's best for the club.

Blimey - must be worth £60 million now ... but would he score for Palace given the shocking lack of service our so called midfield doesn't provide?
Perhaps the young Margate guy we've signed might become the new Vardy? One can only hope ....
