I will take your word regards Afobe's overall stats but I understand when one looks at his recent clubs (Albeit not at PL level) he averages a goal roughly every 2 games so he has arrived at Bournemouth as a regular goalscorer.

I think we have lacked an out and out goalscorer for some time now. And from what I've seen of him, Afobe looks mobile and also capable of holding the ball up in addition to scoring goals. As for unproven players...well, just maybe the Dwight Gayle saga has resulted in the club being risk adverse in this respect.

He played well on Tuesday night (he was constantly making himself a nuisance in and around our box) to the extent we were saying during the match it was only a matter of time before he put one away. He did of course and seems to be justifying his transfer to the PL.

Although agree on Afobe, i do still feel Shelvey would have been a class adition. MOTM performances for Newcastle so far and cutting up defences ass well as making the transition from defence to attack very smooth. Yet the window is behind us now, just hope we learn from our mistakes. Afobe can do what Wickham can (hold upp play) and run in behind, finish and head. Full package for me

Problem is when players are on fire they have a big value you buy you move the system you take a chance on a name that is only half proven, win a few lose a few, don't always win it F*** it who gives a F*** anyway- problem is we do. but It's only money - in general Millions we could retire on it for them its a few pay packets, for us its a life time for them its a season, more fool us but what else is there!! Palace is not just for Christmas its forever.
