Really ?? I know we are doing fantastic ! However I think we still need a regular goal scoring striker and a centre back to push for Delaney's place.

Any thoughts ? They may be a thread already but I didn't see it . My view would be to try for Austin again or maybe a European striker with something to prove. I'd allow 20million for striker no more. Anyone else have any thoughts ??
3 first team automatic starters, werent here last December.
..I saw his deadwood, it was interesting to see against moan.u and I watched it fascinatingly come to life hugely over chelsea just quite recently, thank god we got rid of him.

Anyone who says we don't need a striker is braindead. We need someone who has the potential to be a goalscorer. Wickham and Cham both target men. We need to try for someone like Remy again, who is the main target. Oozes class, can score a different pedigree of goal and can get a hatful if given the correct service.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'January and possible striker ? ' by james03 Wickham is getting better, how he hasn't scored in the last 2 games is a mystery to me. One of those excellent headers should have found the net. I'm voting for only buying if the price is right. Man Unt buying Martial is far too brave for CPFC. Andy

Chicharito, i knows his Aunt's next door neighbor's son. He said he wants to play for a top 6 premiership side. Done well this season in Germany. Two quick feet and pace to burn.Phenominal workrate and attitude and is a terrific finisher. Perhaps Man Utd rue selling him - they could do with him now !

I'm sure Liverpool would jump at a 6 month loan deal for Ings, seeing he's injured and not due back until June. This guy is being mentioned in another thread. Amazing strike record

I think Cameron Jerome slipped thru our net somehow and if Norwich do want Gayle? Such a cultured player this does not include his miss against Everton however!

I really think that unless we get remy or similar, we really don't need a striker. My reasoning is that it's not as if we've had a striker with lots of chances that hasn't converted. Bloasie, Zaha, Gayle, WICKHAM ETC HAVE ALL GOT CRACKING shots when they've got a chance. Gayle, if fed the right ball, will finish as good as the best. Wickham has been utterly unselfish and provided assists - but he can finish too. So, to warrant buying a striker, we would need to be in a situation where strikers have been given chances but failed to convert - that isn't the case - rather, chances themselves have been too few. I like our team as it is now. I'd put no pressure on CW to score - just keep on doing as he is now. Maybe Remy as a backup to CW but I'm not sweating on it. Our team as it stands now should finish in the top 5.
