From a personal point of view this would probably be the best signing I'll ever see in my life. Pato was my idol at 16 years old and I tried to copy everything he did, even down to the orange mercurial boots he wore (yes I paid £120 for them). For him to play army club would be a dream a come true!!

Evidently according to Sky Sports he is quoted as saying he wants to return to Europe and play in the Champions League. Guess that rules us and West Ham out then!

if he has had to be loaned from corinthians due to not setting the world alight in South America either.. then no champions league team will want him anyway. .

Russian league sides or teams like Sporting CP might take the risk, to be fair. But none of the 'big' Champions League sides would take him - it's too risky.

I think if we were to sign Pato we would need to get this done pretty quickly. His stock is on the rise thanks to a brilliant season so far for Sao Paulo. Others are going to be interested in him if he keeps up the form he's in at the moment. 4 in 6 now with assists to boot as well. Come on Parish I'll clean your Ferrari every week if you get this done.

I might have been 16 and still playing Sunday league but I never ruled myself out lol.

I had to laugh about the report that I've just read:- Reports emerged via the usual British rumour websites on Friday afternoon that Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace were in some kind of fight to sign £23.4m Alexandre Pato... according to reports in Brazil. We found those reports in Brazil and everything isn't quite as it seems. Firstly the figures are well out. Diario de Sao Paulo say the asking price is R$36.5m, but that's in Brazilian Real (hence the R$) and The Metro and some others appear to have converted it as if it were American dollars. Therefore, rather than the asking price being £23.4m, it's actually more like £6.8m. Secondly, rather than Everton, West Ham, and Crystal Palace doing the chasing, it would seem they are being chased. The agents who took Pato to Sao Paulo are trying to find him a new club and eyeing mid table Premier League teams. It'll be no coincidence that the teams mentioned finished 10th, 11th and 12th in the Premier League last season. Pato hasn't had a bad time at Sao Paulo scoring wise but he's still struggling to find somewhere he can call his long term home, agents whisking up names and transfer fees doesn't help that. A move at £6.8m is obviously far more likely than at £23.4m, but it's still not the English clubs doing the pursuing here.

He was reported to say, he wants Champions league football, with an English club, thats the 3 mentioned clubs out the running.

A few clubs rumoured to be interested in him for January. Can't help but think that he would've been a welcome addition at this current time.

I always get excited when we look at getting a new scapegoat in.
