Can't really remember how we was viewed footballing wise from others but I always loved Eric the Ninja as a kid I'm pretty sure he wasn't viewed as cr@p but don't often hear about him now so he's my shout.

Eric was class. One of the best five centre-halfs I've ever seen play for Palace.

As you've said,Ninja, should not be mentioned in 'crap' thread .

This is a great topic. I've been trying to think of a team. A lot of players from the administration periods who gave 100% despite not getting paid and only having a limited ability deserve a mention.

1. Digby
2. Austin
3. Borrowdale
4. Woosley
5. Popovic (I'm not sure if he was s*** in Division 1?)
6. Fullerton
7. Carlisle
8. Zohar
9. Wilbraham
10. C. Andrews
11. W. Andrews

This team would definitely lose gallantly to any opposition it came across.

glenn pennyfather.
the mighty atom.

Pennyfather was a Southend player bought by Coppel at about the same time as Geof Thomas came. In comparison Pennyfather couldn't compete with a man who eventually played for England, but he wasn't that bad, only in comparison.

These guys all had their moments...yeah crap but I liked them. Popovic was a bit better and I liked him too...
Never liked the others much at all.
Wayne Andrews, well, as a reserve he was as if Ferrari had a Fiat 500 as reserve car(OK, Wayne might have been a bit faster than a Fiat 500).

Paul Bodin looked like a good player but only played something like 9 games around 1991. Think he went back to Swindon and then missed the penalty that could have got Wales into the 1994 World Cup. Had an excellent tache as well

How can anyone forget the number of times Dean Austin had the ball in space with no one arounf him and he would slice the ball into the Arthur Wait stand. Did he have friends sitting in there, or was he aiming at someone who was giving him stick?

And who could forget the sideways clap?

Fernando de Ornelas. He paid his own air fare to play for us during the first administration. He was shockingly bad but we couldn't complain.
