Pardew had his moments, but he was a pretty average player. Still unproven as a manager - in terms of silverware. That's what Palace need next. TP can do. Loving it since the Bert Head days!

You obviously never saw him play did you? Average is massively exaggerating his ability.

Totally agree. Only did 2 things of any note 1) Villa Park 2)Cross for goal in ZDS Semi Final 2nd leg..

...And against Everton at Selhurst, he beat their offside trap and ran half the length of pitch and put it past fatty Southall....I hope this doesn't turn into a 'what did the Romans ever do for us' thread, 'cos we'll look a bit silly

At the end of the day Pardew was an integral part of Coppell's team, he scored to help secure an FA Cup final and he played over 100 games for the club.It was nice seeing him last night.

Steve Parish said on talksport before the game that Pulis would be the manger next season and they are talking about signings

Yeah I've heard it as well. SP talked about all the stuff that TP has highlighted but clearly said that the most important thing is providing TP the most they possibly can and hiring wisely. He also said about how he takes his time making decisions re: CPFC and how snappy decisions are not the way for him or CPFC, especially as we're in a once in alifetime type opportunity that we shouldn't waste.

After hearing that and Saggers and I think Collymore talking about it and us, nothing to worry about. They have to extend his contract now because you can't have a successful manager with 2 years left and approaching the time when it gets to 1 year left with squad additions needed and chairmen circling around.

Pardew was signed from non league for a very small fee and despite getting made scapegoat by a section of the support, provided to be a very useful player in that side. On all accounts a proper lad off the field, and great for team spirit. Always seemed to get the ball down and play short passes too, which was something of a rarity in that side, great as it was.

I think the fee was £7,500 - he was signed from Yeovil.

You think Parish looked glum at the game last night...it was just reported on NBCSN in the US that on his way home after the match, someone rear-ended his Ferrari.

Wasn't that Ronnie O'Sullivan after losing the world snooker final. Real unhappy night for the Liverpool fan.

And pardew at the game. Sad to say, but looks like the handwritings on the wall with pulis.

He was watching Liverpool for next week's game.

Thats what I said - several times - but still not convinced myself

I'm a similar age and I remember him vividly as being a terrible player. He's also a massive c*ck.
