I've stopped going. I don't think the players wear tight enough shorts. It's not been the same since watching Razor.
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

I've supported Palace since 1976 when my father came out as a Clowntown fan and started trying to make me go to the Valley.

You mock lads but I actually sell football merchandise and a few weeks ago I had a guy ask for a Spurs hat. I had a bit of a run on Spurs gear & told him I was out and have some in next week. "Ah f*** it he say's Gimme a Barca one then"

To be honest, most real football fans will be looking at Crystal Palace right now and wishing they had a bit of what we've got. A mate of mine, staunch Leeds said to me only this weekend he wished he was a Palace fan... mind you Leeds have turned incompetence into an art form. Nobby: give Leeds a go - they're a big club. Apparently.

moved to south London a couple of years back. Went to selhurst and my first game was CPFC vs Leeds in 2012. I've then supported the team out of community and local allegiance. bought my CP jersey last year and very happy to support a local team with a real spirit, good supporters and nice atmosphere. I think new supporters can be just as passionate as old, and I am one fore sure who will support them if they are going down or staying up!!

Live in the States where NBCSN got the package to show all the Premier League games so I decided I'd watch and see if I could stick with it a whole season. Palace started in last, but watched the West Ham and Cardiff wins back to back. 6 points in a week! A chance to stay on next year. Loved the way the crowd sounded. And thus, I'd picked my team.

I started supporting Palace the moment the final whistle blew in the play-off final. Previously, I have supported Man. utd, Chelsea and Arsenal, but found their fans not to be very welcoming. They don't like it if you wear half and half colours, but it's so difficult to chose who to support when arsenal play Chelsea cos you don't know who is gonna win. At the start of last season I started to follow Brighton for a while cos it was easy and cheap to get a season ticket, but I dropped them when I realised they were sh#t and would never get promotion. I quite like supporting Palace, but I find Selsdon park a bit of a dump and the toilets and food leave a lot to be desired. I may renew my season ticket next season, but I'm looking into Leicester at the moment cos they have run away with the championship so must be really good.

My story: was a Wimbledon fan. Had a season ticket in the old family stand (block J of main stand) from about 5-15 or so. Wimbledon taken away from me. Followed and went to a few AFC Wimbledon matches. It was ok but it was never the same as the 'proper' Wimbledon for me. Over time I lost interest (though I still hope they do well) but I was a neutral and just enjoyed watching good football. Over the next few seasons I tagged along with my best mate to the odd Palace game here and there. The same with my (at the time) girlfriend, we would go to a few games because she has always supported Palace. I liked the atmosphere at Selhurst. She became my wife and with no fixed team it made sense to support Palace. Towards the end of last season I started going to most games. This season I got a season ticket. I know the timing is convenient, but I don't deem it as glory hunting because I was going to get a season ticket this season if in the PL or Championship. So no, I have not been a lifelong Palace fan. But I have not just started supporting a team for glory hunting reasons. If I wanted glory/big sides in London, I would just support Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham etc. i have always supported and liked underdog sides and I identify the struggle, ups and downs between Palace and my old Wimbledon. Also having a wife and my best man at wedding who both support Palace, it would be stupid for me to go with each of them to Palace matches and not actually support them when I have no actual fixed side at the time. I started casually following Palace last year after a mutual friend who has been a supporter since birth introduced me to all things CPFC. As a Yank, Following clubs in the lower leagues is an exercise in accepting the fact that you will never, ever see a match live on tv. It's like having an thoroughly unresponsive pen pal. With Palace's promotion and the new NBC deal that allowed ALL premier league matches to be accessible via tv or iPad in the States, I thought this must be fate...and jumped all in as a Palace supporter I particularly love how no matter what stadium an away match is played in, you can always hear Palace chants at deafening volumes coming across the tv...

My story: I'm the spawn of British expats, therefore I never had a legitimate english team to follow, because I didn't grow up as a "local", which was always a shame. Then I moved to London in 2012 and that was obviously the perfect moment to follow the local team, which was luckily Crystal Palace, which suited me just fine because I already had a soft spot for them. I went to a game on my first weekend after moving in. which was Palace vs Hull. A very lacklustre 1-1 draw on a rainy day. The stadium was virtually empty compared to now. Then they even got promoted, which was great, but a double edged sword because some idiots will accuse me of "glory hunting". Because supporting a team battling relegation is obviously glory hunting. I have been to quite a few games now, eventually got a half season ticket as a bit of a trial to see if being a season ticket holder fits into my life, sadly it doesn't, I have missed too many games to justify getting a ST again, so I'll sit next season out, maybe getting one again next year if I can't bear it. I really am glad Palace turned out to be my local team, how can you not love it? With the owners, the support, the work rate of the players, Chamakh's hair.
